Study Summary

This trial will help researchers learn if exercise or electrical stimulation can improve blood flow and quality of life for people with PAD.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for veterans with Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) who are planning to have a procedure to improve blood flow in their legs within the next 6 months. They must not be excessively overweight, undergoing cancer treatment, or suffering from severe limb issues or gangrene.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study is testing whether exercise rehabilitation or neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES) over three months can help improve leg blood flow, physical function, quality of life and overall health in patients with PAD needing revascularization.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Potential side effects may include muscle soreness or fatigue due to exercise training and skin irritation or discomfort from NMES therapy. The intensity of these side effects can vary among individuals.
