Study Summary

This trial will test whether or not removing high-impact features from e-cigarette ads will reduce experimentation and use among young adults.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for young adults aged 18-26 who have never used e-cigarettes or haven't in the past month. They must not use alcohol, tobacco, or marijuana at the time of visit and be fluent in English. Pregnant women and recent e-cigarette users are excluded.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study examines how young adults respond to two types of e-cigarette ads: regulated (with certain persuasive features removed) versus unregulated (all features intact). Participants will view these ads within an online magazine over six months to see if it affects their EC use.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves viewing advertisements rather than taking a medication, there are no direct physical side effects. However, exposure to ads could potentially influence attitudes towards e-cigarettes and may lead to experimentation or sustained use.
