Study Summary

This trial is looking at ways to help racial and ethnic minority populations get treatment for depression, to reduce health disparities.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults with a new diagnosis of major depression or dysthymic disorder who haven't started treatment. They must have been part of the health system for a year, not use antidepressants or therapy in the last 30 days, and have moderate to severe symptoms. It's not for those without EHR portal access, who opted out of research contact, or with recent schizophrenia or bipolar diagnoses.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests if outreach messages can help people from underserved racial and ethnic groups start treating their depression. It compares different communication methods (online messaging, mail, phone) to see which works best without widening health disparities.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial focuses on outreach messaging rather than medication or invasive procedures, there are no direct physical side effects expected from participating in the study.
