"This clinical trial is admitting 50 adults aged 18 to 40 with consistent body weight. Candidates should meet the following guidelines: no changes in prescription medication for one month, willingness to observe study protocol including dietary supplement consumption and other procedures, non-smoking status, lack of any uncontrolled diseases or disorders such as cardiovascular disease or cancer; no major surgeries within last 6 months; absence of hypertension, coronary heart disease, angina etc.; stability of body weight (no more than 4.5 kg difference over previous 3 months); moderate caffeine intake (40-200 mg/d); BMI between 50 and 110 kg., fat percentage ≥10% for males"
What are the anticipated results from this trial?
"This 4-week clinical trial will primarily assess patients' waist-to-hip ratio, but also looks into secondary objectives like segmental lean soft tissue content obtained via dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DEXA), total lean soft tissue revealed by DEXA scans, and resting energy expenditure calculated in an indirect calorimetry."
