ASH Trial Summary

This trial studies the effects of caffeine energy drinks on energy, focus, reaction time, and fat & carb oxidation in 60 adults. Double-blind, 28 day trial to compare effects of caffeine vs placebo.

Who is the study for?
Healthy adults aged 18-50, with a BMI of >24 to <31.9, who are moderately active and consume around 300 mg of caffeine daily can join this study. They shouldn't be treated for serious diseases or disorders, pregnant, using certain medications, or have a history of substance abuse or major psychiatric conditions.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
This trial is testing whether a caffeine-based energy drink affects energy expenditure, fat burning, reaction time and focus compared to a placebo. Participants will be randomly assigned the drink or placebo in a double-blind setup and tested before and after 28 days.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Potential side effects may include increased heart rate, jitteriness, trouble sleeping, digestive discomforts like nausea or upset stomach due to the caffeine content in the energy drink.
