Study Summary

This trial assesses an online questionnaire to identify Canadians with undiagnosed asthma/COPD and invites them to get treatment to improve their quality of life.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults who suspect they might have asthma or COPD based on respiratory symptoms. They must be able to perform lung function tests and score a ≥6% chance of having these conditions using an online questionnaire. It's not for those already diagnosed with significant lung diseases, using certain inhaled medications, under specialist care, or with recent serious cardiovascular events.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study evaluates if treating undiagnosed asthma or COPD following guidelines improves life quality and health outcomes. Participants identified at risk from an online survey will receive assessments and treatments by a respirologist according to evidence-based standards.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since the interventions involve standard treatments for asthma or COPD as per guidelines, side effects may include throat irritation, hoarseness, coughing, headaches, oral thrush infections and potentially increased heart rate; specific side effects depend on the exact treatment prescribed.
