Study Summary

This trial will test whether a walkout at 110% of 1RM can improve back squat performance and exertion levels.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for healthy male lifters aged 18-45 who can squat at least 1.5 times their body weight. They must not have used steroids in the past year, had rhabdomyolysis, been inactive in squats for six months, or have heart/metabolic diseases or injuries that limit exercise.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests if doing a supramaximal walkout (lifting more than one's max squat) affects performance on subsequent back squats compared to a submaximal walkout (lifting less). Participants will be randomly assigned to do either before squatting.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
There are no specific side effects mentioned for this intervention as it involves standard resistance training exercises. However, general risks may include muscle soreness and fatigue.
