EDUCATE-HF Trial Summary

This trial will compare video vs text materials to teach people about heart failure medications & management. Participants answer questions before/after to measure their knowledge & preferences.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for individuals with heart failure where the heart's pumping ability is reduced (EF ≤40%). They must be able to read and understand English, as well as answer questions independently.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study aims to see if people learn more about managing heart failure from videos or text. Participants will be randomly assigned different combinations of video and text modules on the topic, then tested before and after.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves educational materials rather than medical treatments, there are no direct side effects related to medications or procedures. However, participants may experience fatigue or eye strain.

How many subjects are participating in this research endeavor?

"Affirmative. According to clinicaltrials.gov, this medical experiment has been recruiting since June 20th of the current year and is still actively seeking participants. There are 128 slots available at one site for enrollment in this study."

Answered by AI

What is the primary goal of this medical investigation?

"The key outcome being measured in this clinical trial is the patient's preference for a heart failure educational module. This evaluation will occur immediately after completion of said module. Further, secondary outcomes include changes to HF self-management scores on associated knowledge assessments, self-assessed pharmacological comprehension relative to video and text modules, and alterations in perception of proper HF monitoring between video and text based instruction."
