LODIP Trial Summary

This trial will compare clinical outcomes of gastroenterologists attending e-learning module to those who don't, to test if optical diagnosis accuracy increases.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for gastroenterologists who have done over 300 colonoscopies unsupervised and are in their final training year or completed residency after 2014. It excludes those trained at Japanese centers known for high accuracy in diagnosing deep submucosal invasion.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study tests if an e-learning module improves the ability of gastroenterologists to diagnose deep submucosal invasion in large colorectal polyps during routine procedures, compared to those not taking the course.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves an educational intervention rather than a medical treatment, traditional physical side effects are not applicable. However, participants may experience increased screen time.

LODIP Trial Timeline

Screening ~ 3 weeks
Treatment ~ Varies
Follow Up ~immediately after the colonoscopy
This trial's timeline: 3 weeks for screening, Varies for treatment, and immediately after the colonoscopy for reporting.

Study Objectives

Outcome measures can provide a clearer picture of what you can expect from a treatment.
Primary outcome measures
Pooled sensitivity of endoscopic optical diagnosis for predicting deep submucosal invasion in routine colonoscopies
Secondary outcome measures
Pooled LR+ of endoscopic optical diagnosis for predicting deep submucosal invasion
Pooled LR+ of endoscopic optical diagnosis for predicting deep submucosal invasion in a 20-image test before and after the learning module in the intervention group
