Study Summary
This trial is studying how well combining surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy works in treating patients with peritoneal cancer.
Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults over 18 with peritoneal cancer, specifically malignant mesothelioma. Participants must have a good performance status, meaning they can carry out daily activities with little to no assistance. They should not be pregnant or nursing and must use contraception if fertile. No recent other cancers (except certain skin cancers or cervical carcinoma in situ), uncontrolled diseases, serious infections, or psychiatric disorders are allowed.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study is testing the effectiveness of combining surgery with chemotherapy and radiation therapy on patients with peritoneal cancer. The chemotherapy drugs will be administered directly into the tumor area after surgery to try to kill more tumor cells when combined with radiation therapy.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Chemotherapy may cause side effects like nausea, vomiting, hair loss, fatigue, increased risk of infection due to low blood cell counts, and potential damage to organs near the treated area. Radiation therapy might lead to skin irritation at the treatment site and fatigue.
