Study Summary

This trial will look at how well men and women respond to exercise when it comes to cardiovascular disease.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for healthy older adults, specifically men and women aged 60-79. Women must be postmenopausal. Participants should not have a history of significant cardiovascular diseases, major chronic diseases like diabetes or liver disease, recent hospitalizations, or significant weight changes. They shouldn't use tobacco products or hormone replacement therapy and must not be currently engaged in regular aerobic exercise.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study investigates how older men and postmenopausal women's blood vessels respond to exercise differently. It involves periods of exercising compared with control periods without exercise to see the effects on vascular health over time.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this trial involves standard physical activity, side effects might include typical exercise-related responses such as muscle soreness or fatigue. However, serious side effects are unlikely given the non-invasive nature of the intervention.
