Study Summary

This trial will test whether the order of taking two drugs, one for cholesterol and one for preventing strokes and heart attacks, affects how well the second drug works.

Who is the study for?
Adults aged 18-75 who need medication for high cholesterol and blood clots can join this trial. They must be visiting a cardiology clinic and not have any history of liver, kidney, or significant lung disease, bleeding problems, allergies to erythromycin, psychiatric impairments, substance abuse issues, or be pregnant.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study is testing how the drug clopidogrel (for preventing strokes and heart attacks) interacts with atorvastatin (a cholesterol-lowering drug). Participants will take these drugs in different orders to see if one affects the action of the other. The liver's ability to process these drugs will be measured using an erythromycin breath test.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Potential side effects from clopidogrel may include bleeding issues and gastrointestinal discomfort. Atorvastatin could cause muscle pain, headaches, or increased liver enzymes. Side effects vary by individual.
