Study Summary

This trial will test a debriefing protocol to improve medical students' non-technical skills and performance in simulated scenarios. 40 medical students will participate and be assessed using a validated tool. Results will contribute to trauma care training for children.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for third or fourth-year medical students from McGill University and general surgery residents at McGill University Health Centre. It also includes fifth or sixth-year medical students and general surgery residents in Brazil. The study aims to improve non-technical skills in pediatric trauma care.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The trial tests a debriefing protocol designed to enhance non-technical skills among medical trainees during simulated pediatric trauma scenarios. Teams will be randomly assigned, with some receiving the new debriefing method while others get standard feedback.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
Since this intervention involves educational techniques rather than medications, traditional side effects are not applicable. However, participants may experience stress or anxiety due to the nature of simulation training and performance evaluation.
