PilotXenAllo Trial Summary

This trial compares the changes in extraction sockets of single rooted teeth, six months after extraction, when grafted with either xenograft or allograft.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults over 21 with good oral health, requiring single-rooted tooth extraction but no active infections or severe dental issues. It excludes those with systemic conditions, chronic antibiotic/steroid use, pregnancy, heavy smoking (>10 cigarettes/day), and certain medical histories like bone disorders or HIV.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study compares the changes in the tooth socket's dimensions after an extraction when filled with either a xenograft (tissue from another species) or an allograft (human donor tissue). The comparison occurs over a six-month period post-extraction.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
While specific side effects are not listed for this type of procedure, common risks may include infection at the graft site, inflammation, discomfort or pain at the extraction site, and potential rejection of graft material.
