Why did patients apply to this trial?

I have recently been diagnosed with relatively severe heart failure in the right side of my heart. I also have pulmonary hypertension. According to my doctors this is 100% from doing meth. I won’t get better, even on medication, if I can’t quit. I can barely move without being totally winded. I want to improve my quality of life.
