Study Summary

This trial will compare post-operative outcomes for patients who have either simultaneous bilateral PCNL or staged unilateral PCNL for kidney stones.

Who is the study for?
This trial is for adults over 18 with bilateral kidney stones who are medically fit for a surgical procedure called PCNL. It's not for those with health issues that make surgery risky, people unable to consent, or patients planned for other stone removal treatments.Check my eligibility
What is being tested?
The study aims to find out if doing the PCNL surgery on both sides at once leads to better recovery than operating one side at a time. PCNL is a procedure used to remove certain types of kidney stones.See study design
What are the potential side effects?
PCNL may cause bleeding, infection, pain around the surgical area, and potential damage to surrounding organs or tissues. Recovery times can vary based on individual patient factors.
