This study is evaluating whether a sequence of two surgeries can improve vision in people with glaucoma.

I am between 35 and 80 years old with open-angle glaucoma not controlled by medication.

RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies can locate tumor cells and either kill them or deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. It is not yet known whether giving monoclonal antibody therapy is more effective than a placebo in treating patients with ovarian epithelial, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer who have responded to surgery and chemotherapy.

PURPOSE: Randomized phase II trial to study the effectiveness of monoclonal antibody therapy in treating patients with residual disease from stage III or stage IV ovarian epithelial, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer following surgery and chemotherapy.

Monoclonal Antibody Therapy for Ovarian Cancer

This study is evaluating whether monoclonal antibody therapy is more effective than a placebo in treating patients with residual disease from stage III or stage IV ovarian epithelial, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer following surgery and chemotherapy.

I can take care of myself and perform daily activities.

I've had more than one chemotherapy regimen and my last treatment was less than 4 weeks ago.

I still have visible or palpable cancer after initial surgery.

I have not had radiotherapy in my abdomen area in the last 4 weeks.

My CA 125 levels were high before or at the time of my surgery.

I had surgery less than 4 weeks ago and have had more than one debulking procedure.

My ovarian, tubal, or peritoneal cancer responded completely to initial treatment.

I had immunotherapy or used mouse-derived antibodies less than 6 weeks ago.

My bilirubin levels are not more than 1.5 times the normal upper limit.

My creatinine level is 1.6 mg/dL or lower.

Monoclonal Antibody Therapy

RATIONALE: Interferon alfa may interfere with the growth of cancer cells. It is not yet known whether treatment with interferon alfa is more effective than observation alone for stage II or stage III melanoma that has been completely removed surgically.

PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying high dose interferon alfa to see how well it works compared to observation only in treating patients with stage II or stage III melanoma that has been completely removed by surgery.

This study is evaluating whether interferon alfa can improve survival for people with melanoma.

My skin cancer is at Stage II with a thickness of 1.5-4.0 mm.

My lymph nodes do not show signs of cancer, either by clinical exam or biopsy.

My cancer is stage III with a tumor thicker than 4mm or has spread to one lymph node.

This study is evaluating whether a monoclonal antibody can be used to treat ovarian, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer.

It's been over 4 weeks since my last platinum-based chemotherapy, and I'm not on any chemotherapy now.

My treatment plan does not specify endocrine therapy.

I haven't had whole abdomen radiotherapy and it's been 6+ months since my last limited area radiotherapy.

It has been over 4 weeks since my last surgery and I have not had my spleen removed.

I have had only one platinum-based chemotherapy treatment.

My blood pressure is controlled, and I don't have heart failure or irregular heartbeats.

My condition has not come back after treatment.

My cancer originates from the ovary, fallopian tube, or peritoneum.

My cancer is invasive and not considered low-grade.

My bilirubin levels are not more than 1.5 times the normal range.

I have never received mouse-derived antibody treatments.

I haven't taken any immunosuppressive or investigational drugs in the last 4 weeks.

I am able to get out of my bed or chair and move around.

This study is evaluating whether a drug can stop cancer cells from dividing.

I do not have any serious illnesses besides my current condition.

I haven't had cancer in the last 5 years, except for skin cancer.

My cancer is confirmed as metastatic small cell lung cancer.

My liver function tests are within the required limits.

My kidney function, measured by creatinine levels or clearance, meets the required standards.

My cancer returned 3 months or more after finishing chemotherapy.

My cancer did not fully respond or has returned after initial chemotherapy.

I have had a condition where my lymphocytes grow abnormally.

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Radiation therapy uses high-energy x-rays to damage tumor cells. Peripheral stem cell transplantation may allow the doctor to give higher doses of chemotherapy and kill more tumor cells. It is not yet known if combination chemotherapy is more effective with or without radiation therapy and/or surgery in treating Ewing's sarcoma.

PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is studying different combination chemotherapy regimens to see how well they work when given with or without peripheral stem cell transplantation, radiation therapy, and/or surgery in treating patients with Ewing's sarcoma.

My cancer is a type of Ewing's sarcoma or related.

My disease is either operable, was operated on, needs or doesn’t need immediate radiotherapy, has spread to lungs/pleura or beyond, and it’s been less than 45 days since my definitive biopsy.

My kidney function is normal, with a filtration rate of 60 mL/min or more.

My heart functions normally, with good pumping ability.

I don't have any health or social issues that would stop me from joining the study.

This study is evaluating whether a drug can stop tumor cells from dividing.

I am not receiving any other cancer-killing treatments.

I am not receiving any radiotherapy except for pain relief in a specific area.

My brain cancer is stable and I've been on a steady dose of steroids for the last month.

I can carry out all my usual activities without help.

I do not have any major neurological or psychiatric disorders, except those caused by my cancer.

I have no other cancers except for treated skin cancer, cervical carcinoma in situ, or a cancer cured over 5 years ago.

I do not have any infections that aren't under control.

My condition has not been treated before.

I am not currently receiving any immunotherapy for cancer.

My cancer is a type of pancreatic cancer confirmed by lab tests.

My cancer cannot be removed by surgery and has spread.

I have not received hormone therapy before.

My kidney function is normal or only slightly reduced.

I am not currently on any hormone treatments for cancer.

I do not have chest pain due to heart issues.

I have not had a heart attack in the last year.

I do not have a history of chronic diarrhea conditions like Crohn's or ulcerative colitis.

My nutritional health is good enough to handle severe diarrhea.

This partially randomized phase III trial studies isotretinoin with dinutuximab, aldesleukin, and sargramostim to see how well it works compared to isotretinoin alone following stem cell transplant in treating patients with neuroblastoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as isotretinoin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Monoclonal antibodies, such as dinutuximab, may block tumor growth in different ways by targeting certain cells. Aldesleukin and sargramostim may stimulate a person's white blood cells to kill cancer cells. It is not yet known if chemotherapy is more effective with or without dinutuximab, aldesleukin, and sargramostim following stem cell transplant in treating neuroblastoma.

Isotretinoin With or Without Dinutuximab, Aldesleukin, and Sargramostim Following Stem Cell Transplant in Treating Patients With Neuroblastoma

This study is evaluating whether a combination of chemotherapy, isotretinoin, dinutuximab, aldesleukin, and sargramostim is more effective than chemotherapy alone in treating patients with neuroblastoma.

My heart's pumping ability is confirmed to be normal by recent tests.

I have high-risk neuroblastoma, or it became high-risk after initial diagnosis.

I completed therapy for my cancer, including intensive treatment and a stem cell transplant.

My seizures are under control with medication and I have no severe brain-related side effects.

My parent or guardian has given written consent for me to participate.

I am eligible for a second stem cell transplant.

My latest bone marrow tests show less than 10% tumor cells before my stem cell transplant or joining this study.

I started my first chemotherapy for high-risk neuroblastoma less than 12 months ago.

I've had recent scans and tests to check my cancer's stage before joining the trial.

I've completed therapy for neuroblastoma, including intensive treatments and possibly surgery.

I am eligible for a tandem transplant and have followed specific treatment protocols within the last 12 months.

My veno-occlusive disease is stable or getting better.

My lung function tests are above 60% of what's expected, or I'm a child without breathing issues.

My neuroblastoma shows a positive response according to specific criteria before stem cell transplant.

My kidney function is within the required range for my age and gender.

I have never received GD2 antibody therapy.

I can do most activities and my doctor thinks I have at least 2 months to live.

I still have cancer after radiotherapy but haven't had a biopsy.

My neuroblastoma shows a positive response to treatment before stem cell transplant.

My kidney function is normal or near normal.

I have not taken Fludarabine in the last 9 months.

I am able to care for myself and perform daily activities.

I am currently on medication that suppresses my immune system.

I have a serious illness that is not cancer.

My tumor can be or has been biopsied recently.

I have received a specific vaccine for my cancer before.

I have a history of lymphoma in my brain or its coverings.

My cancer did not respond or has returned after chemotherapy.

My condition worsened after initially responding to Rituxan treatment.

I have not received any treatment for my condition.

I have undergone more than 2 treatment cycles.

My condition did not improve after Rituxan treatment.

I have been in remission from another cancer for over 2 years.

My cancer can be measured after a lymph node biopsy.

My lymphoma is a low-grade type according to WHO classification.

This randomized phase III trial studies lenalidomide and low-dose dexamethasone to see how well it works compared to lenalidomide and standard-dose dexamethasone, given with or without thalidomide, in treating patients with multiple myeloma. Biological therapies, such as lenalidomide, may stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop cancer cells from growing. Lenalidomide and thalidomide may also stop the growth of multiple myeloma by blocking blood flow to the cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as dexamethasone, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving lenalidomide, thalidomide, and dexamethasone together may kill more cancer cells.

Lenalidomide and Dexamethasone With or Without Thalidomide in Treating Patients With Multiple Myeloma

This study is evaluating whether lenalidomide and low-dose dexamethasone works better than lenalidomide and standard-dose dexamethasone, given with or without thalidomide, in treating patients with multiple myeloma.

I have had cancer before but meet specific conditions for this trial.

I do not have any serious illnesses that are not under control.

I have never had deep vein thrombosis or a pulmonary embolism.

I do not have severe numbness or pain in my hands or feet.

I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma recently and have symptoms.

My kidney and liver functions are within normal ranges.

I have had radiation therapy for symptom relief or targeted treatment.

I am following the required pregnancy prevention measures.

I have only used bisphosphonates for my multiple myeloma.

I do not have smoldering myeloma or MGUS.

This study is evaluating whether modafinil is effective in treating fatigue in people with cancer.

I have some limitations but can still take care of myself.

I have never had heart valve issues from using CNS stimulants.

My heart's left ventricle is not thickened.

I am currently taking painkillers, antipsychotics, or anxiety medication.

I don't have any chronic conditions or mental health issues that would stop me from participating in the study.

Modafinil

This randomized phase III trial studies oxaliplatin, leucovorin calcium, fluorouracil, and bevacizumab to see how well they work compared to oxaliplatin, leucovorin calcium, and fluorouracil in treating patients who have undergone surgery for stage II colon cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as oxaliplatin, leucovorin calcium, and fluorouracil, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Monoclonal antibodies, such as bevacizumab, may interfere with the ability of tumor cells to grow and spread. It is not yet known whether giving combination chemotherapy together with bevacizumab is more effective than combination chemotherapy alone in treating colon cancer.

Oxaliplatin, Leucovorin Calcium, and Fluorouracil With or Without Bevacizumab in Treating Patients Who Have Undergone Surgery for Stage II Colon Cancer

This study is evaluating whether a combination of chemotherapy and bevacizumab is more effective than chemotherapy alone in treating patients who have undergone surgery for stage II colon cancer.

I have had a condition where my lymphocytes multiply unusually.

I haven't had any cancer except for skin cancer in the last 5 years.

I have a tumor sample available for specific genetic testing.

I have not had a heart attack or unstable angina in the last year.

I have symptoms related to poor blood flow in my limbs.

I do not have more than one tumor at the same time.

My lab tests for Step 2 were done within the last 2 weeks.

I have not had a stroke or mini-stroke in the last year.

I do not have symptoms from peripheral vascular disease.

My cancer has spread to the mesentery but without clear lymph node involvement.

I have had radiation therapy to my pelvic area before.

I haven't had significant bleeding unrelated to my colon cancer in the last 6 months.

I have a serious or non-healing wound, skin ulcer, or bone fracture.

I am currently experiencing significant nerve pain or tingling.

I have not had any major surgeries or procedures recently.
