RATIONALE: Monoclonal antibodies can locate tumor cells and either kill them or deliver tumor-killing substances to them without harming normal cells. It is not yet known whether giving monoclonal antibody therapy is more effective than a placebo in treating patients with ovarian epithelial, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer who have responded to surgery and chemotherapy.

PURPOSE: Randomized phase II trial to study the effectiveness of monoclonal antibody therapy in treating patients with residual disease from stage III or stage IV ovarian epithelial, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer following surgery and chemotherapy.

Monoclonal Antibody Therapy for Ovarian Cancer

This study is evaluating whether monoclonal antibody therapy is more effective than a placebo in treating patients with residual disease from stage III or stage IV ovarian epithelial, fallopian tube, or peritoneal cancer following surgery and chemotherapy.

I can take care of myself and perform daily activities.

I've had more than one chemotherapy regimen and my last treatment was less than 4 weeks ago.

I still have visible or palpable cancer after initial surgery.

I have not had radiotherapy in my abdomen area in the last 4 weeks.

My CA 125 levels were high before or at the time of my surgery.

I had surgery less than 4 weeks ago and have had more than one debulking procedure.

My ovarian, tubal, or peritoneal cancer responded completely to initial treatment.

I had immunotherapy or used mouse-derived antibodies less than 6 weeks ago.

My bilirubin levels are not more than 1.5 times the normal upper limit.

My creatinine level is 1.6 mg/dL or lower.

RATIONALE: Transurethral resection is a less invasive type of surgery for bladder cancer and may have fewer side effects and improve recovery. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. It is not yet known whether transurethral resection plus AD 32 is more effective than transurethral resection alone for bladder cancer.

PURPOSE: Randomized phase III trial to compare the effectiveness of transurethral resection surgery followed by AD 32 with that of transurethral resection alone in treating patients who have newly diagnosed or recurrent bladder cancer.

This study is evaluating whether a surgery which removes the bladder is more effective than a surgery which does not remove the bladder.

I have at least 2 bladder tumors that look like papillary.

I am not currently using any biological treatments for bladder cancer.

My cancer has come back, but I've never had a Tis tumor.

I can take care of myself and am up and about more than 50% of my waking hours.

My liver function tests are within twice the normal range.

It has been over 9 months since my bladder surgery.

I have not received AD 32 therapy for my bladder cancer.

My bladder cancer is in the early or recurrent superficial stage.

My kidney function, measured by creatinine, is within normal limits.

My heart is healthy without significant issues.

I had surgery for my tumor, but it was minor and within the last 3 months.

My cancer is in stage IV and located in my mouth or throat.

My creatinine level is 2.0 mg/dL or lower.

My cancer has not spread to distant parts of my body.

I am currently free of cancer symptoms after having surgery.

My cancer in the head or neck area is confirmed to be a specific type.

I can care for myself but may not be able to do active work.

My lungs work well without any significant problems.

My treatment plan for biologic therapy is not decided.

My cancer is at stage III and is located at the base of my tongue or hypopharynx.

My head or neck cancer diagnosis was confirmed through lab tests and needs radiation.

My cancer has returned after initial treatment or is at stage IV and cannot be treated with standard curative methods.

I have fully recovered from any previous surgeries.

I am able to get out of my bed or chair and move around.

RATIONALE: Congenital toxoplasmosis is an infection caused by the parasitic organism Toxoplasma gondii, and it may be passed from an infected mother to her unborn child. The mother may have mild symptoms or no symptoms; the fetus, however, may experience damage to the eyes, nervous system, skin, and ears. The newborn may have a low birth weight, enlarged liver and spleen, jaundice, anemia, petechiae, and eye damage. Giving the antiparasitic drugs pyrimethamine and sulfadiazine is standard treatment for congenital toxoplasmosis, but it is not yet known which regimen of pyrimethamine is most effective for the disease.

PURPOSE: Randomized phase IV trial to determine which regimen of pyrimethamine is most effective when combined with sulfadiazine and leucovorin in treating patients who have congenital toxoplasmosis.

This partially randomized phase III trial studies isotretinoin with dinutuximab, aldesleukin, and sargramostim to see how well it works compared to isotretinoin alone following stem cell transplant in treating patients with neuroblastoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as isotretinoin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Monoclonal antibodies, such as dinutuximab, may block tumor growth in different ways by targeting certain cells. Aldesleukin and sargramostim may stimulate a person's white blood cells to kill cancer cells. It is not yet known if chemotherapy is more effective with or without dinutuximab, aldesleukin, and sargramostim following stem cell transplant in treating neuroblastoma.

This study is evaluating whether a combination of chemotherapy, isotretinoin, dinutuximab, aldesleukin, and sargramostim is more effective than chemotherapy alone in treating patients with neuroblastoma.

I have high-risk neuroblastoma, or it became high-risk after initial diagnosis.

My kidney function is within the required range for my age and gender.

I can do most activities and my doctor thinks I have at least 2 months to live.

I am fully active or can carry out light work.

I do not have HIV, autoimmune diseases, allergies to egg or neomycin, and no bad reactions to tetanus vaccines.

I haven't had radiotherapy on more than half of my lymph nodes and no current radiotherapy affecting my bone marrow.

My lung condition is under control and not worsening.

My liver function tests are within the required limits and I don't have liver cirrhosis.

My cancer is a type of colorectal cancer that has spread.

I don't have ongoing major bowel issues or chronic diarrhea.

I have not had CEA-targeted immunotherapy or any other immunotherapy at the same time.

I haven't had a major organ transplant and have recovered from any previous surgeries.

It's been over 6 months since my last chemotherapy for early-stage cancer, and I haven't had chemo for advanced cancer.

I am not taking daily steroids or hormone therapy that isn't for replacement.

My heart condition is stable with no uncontrolled issues.

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy such as docetaxel use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Oblimersen may increase the effectiveness of docetaxel by making the tumor cells more sensitive to the drug. It is not yet known if docetaxel is more effective with or without oblimersen in treating non-small cell lung cancer.

PURPOSE: Randomized phase II/III trial to compare the effectiveness of docetaxel with or without oblimersen in treating patients who have relapsed or refractory non-small cell lung cancer that has been previously treated.
