The purpose of this study is to see if it is safe and effective to give CPI-1189 to patients with AIDS dementia.

Advanced HIV infection can cause AIDS dementia (brain damage due to HIV leading to loss of memory and muscle control). CPI-1189 may be able to postpone AIDS dementia or slow it down.

I do not have serious conditions like mental disorders or AIDS-related infections.

I have been on a consistent HIV medication regimen for the last 6 weeks.

I haven't had chemotherapy in the last 4 weeks.

I do not have severe numbness or pain in my hands or feet.

I have not had a heart attack in the last 6 months.

I am able to get out of my bed or chair and move around.

My heart condition does not severely limit my daily activities.

I have had only one chemotherapy treatment before.

I haven't had radiotherapy in the last 4 weeks.

My cancer mainly affects my esophagus or where my stomach meets my esophagus.

I have not received treatment for cancer that has spread.

My cancer is a type of esophageal cancer that cannot be removed by surgery.

I have had only one chemotherapy or radiation treatment before surgery or additional therapy.

I am currently being treated for an AIDS-related infection.

I have a cancer, other than Kaposi's sarcoma, that might need treatment through the bloodstream.

I am currently taking or have recently taken specific medications.

I am on medication, but not for hormonal issues.

My previous HIV treatments did not keep my viral load low.

I have been treated for HIV with specific drugs for more than 8 weeks and, if not currently on treatment, stopped less than 12 weeks ago.

I am at least 13 years old and have consent if under 18.

I have taken NRTI drugs for less than 4 weeks and never taken NNRT or PI drugs.

I have a serious health condition like diabetes or heart disease.

I haven't had chemotherapy or radiation in the last 28 days and won't need them during the study.

I haven't taken immune-affecting or anti-HIV drugs in the last 28 days.

I haven't taken certain drugs in the last 28 days and don't expect to need them during the study.

I have had pancreatitis or hepatitis in the past 6 months.

You have already tried new or experimental treatments.

I have not had an HIV vaccine in the last 3 months.

Nelfinavir

This partially randomized phase III trial studies isotretinoin with dinutuximab, aldesleukin, and sargramostim to see how well it works compared to isotretinoin alone following stem cell transplant in treating patients with neuroblastoma. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as isotretinoin, work in different ways to stop the growth of tumor cells, either by killing the cells, by stopping them from dividing, or by stopping them from spreading. Monoclonal antibodies, such as dinutuximab, may block tumor growth in different ways by targeting certain cells. Aldesleukin and sargramostim may stimulate a person's white blood cells to kill cancer cells. It is not yet known if chemotherapy is more effective with or without dinutuximab, aldesleukin, and sargramostim following stem cell transplant in treating neuroblastoma.

This study is evaluating whether a combination of chemotherapy, isotretinoin, dinutuximab, aldesleukin, and sargramostim is more effective than chemotherapy alone in treating patients with neuroblastoma.

My heart's pumping ability is confirmed to be normal by recent tests.

I have high-risk neuroblastoma, or it became high-risk after initial diagnosis.

I completed therapy for my cancer, including intensive treatment and a stem cell transplant.

My seizures are under control with medication and I have no severe brain-related side effects.

My parent or guardian has given written consent for me to participate.

I am eligible for a second stem cell transplant.

My latest bone marrow tests show less than 10% tumor cells before my stem cell transplant or joining this study.

I started my first chemotherapy for high-risk neuroblastoma less than 12 months ago.

I've had recent scans and tests to check my cancer's stage before joining the trial.

I've completed therapy for neuroblastoma, including intensive treatments and possibly surgery.

I am eligible for a tandem transplant and have followed specific treatment protocols within the last 12 months.

My veno-occlusive disease is stable or getting better.

My lung function tests are above 60% of what's expected, or I'm a child without breathing issues.

My neuroblastoma shows a positive response according to specific criteria before stem cell transplant.

My kidney function is within the required range for my age and gender.

I have never received GD2 antibody therapy.

I can do most activities and my doctor thinks I have at least 2 months to live.

I still have cancer after radiotherapy but haven't had a biopsy.

My neuroblastoma shows a positive response to treatment before stem cell transplant.

My kidney function is normal or near normal.

Phase I trial to study the effectiveness of combining erlotinib hydrochloride with irinotecan hydrochloride in treating patients who have advanced solid tumors. Drugs used in chemotherapy use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining erlotinib hydrochloride and chemotherapy may kill more tumor cells.

I do not have cancer that has spread to my brain.

I haven't had surgery that affects how my body absorbs food or medicine.

My eyes are healthy without any cornea problems.

I am not taking any seizure medications like phenytoin or carbamazepine.

My cancer overproduces a protein called EGFR.

My genetic test shows I have a UGT1A1 6/6, 6/7, or 7/7 genotype.

I can take medication by mouth or through a tube in my nose.

I am HIV-positive and not on combination antiretroviral therapy.

I am not receiving any other chemotherapy treatments.

It has been over 4 weeks since my last radiation treatment.

I haven't had radiation on more than a quarter of my bone marrow.

It has been over 3 weeks since my last major surgery.

My tumor can be biopsied twice at the same spot.

This randomized phase IIB trial studies imatinib mesylate at two different doses and dasatinib to see how well they work in treating patients with previously untreated chronic phase chronic myelogenous leukemia. This study is evaluating whether a drug called imatinib mesylate or dasatinib can stop the growth of cancer cells in patients with chronic myelogenous leukemia.

I haven't had major surgery in the last 28 days and have recovered from past surgeries.

My CML is in the chronic phase, confirmed by recent tests.

I can take care of myself and am up and about more than 50% of my waking hours.

My heart is healthy and I've had an ECG test in the last 42 days without major issues.

I was diagnosed with CML within the last 6 months and tested positive for the Philadelphia chromosome.

I have CML and have only been treated with hydroxyurea or anagrelide.

I haven't had chemotherapy for stem cell mobilization.

I do not have a history of serious bleeding disorders not related to my cancer.

I have no cancer history except for certain skin cancers, early-stage cancers in remission, or any cancer I've been free from for 5 years.

Dasatinib

Imatinib Mesylate

RATIONALE: Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as doxorubicin, cyclophosphamide, and paclitaxel, use different ways to stop tumor cells from dividing so they stop growing or die. Combining more than one drug and giving them after surgery may kill any remaining tumor cells. It is not yet known which combination chemotherapy regimen is more effective in treating resected breast cancer.

PURPOSE: This randomized phase III trial is comparing 2 different regimens of combination chemotherapy to see how well they work in treating patients who have undergone surgery for stage I, stage II, or stage III breast cancer.

This study is evaluating whether a combination of drugs is more effective than a single drug in treating breast cancer.

I have had surgery to remove breast cancer and affected lymph nodes.

I haven't had cancer in the past 5 years, except for certain skin cancers or early-stage cervical or breast cancer.

My cancer is at an early or mid-stage and can be operated on.

I know my cancer's estrogen and progesterone receptor status.

My tumor is smaller than 1 cm and doesn't meet certain criteria.

I have breast cancer in both breasts, diagnosed within a month of each other, and the more advanced tumor meets the study criteria.

My breast cancer is confirmed and not spread beyond stage III.

My tumor is larger than 2 cm or larger than 1 cm with specific features.

My cancer has not spread to my lymph nodes and my tumor is at least 1 cm with high-risk features or larger than 2 cm.

My cancer has not spread to nearby tissues.

My breast cancer has not spread to underarm or breast nodes.

My breast cancer has spread to my lymph nodes.

pVGI.1(VEGF2)

This randomized phase III trial studies lenalidomide and low-dose dexamethasone to see how well it works compared to lenalidomide and standard-dose dexamethasone, given with or without thalidomide, in treating patients with multiple myeloma. Biological therapies, such as lenalidomide, may stimulate the immune system in different ways and stop cancer cells from growing. Lenalidomide and thalidomide may also stop the growth of multiple myeloma by blocking blood flow to the cancer. Drugs used in chemotherapy, such as dexamethasone, work in different ways to stop the growth of cancer cells, either by killing the cells or by stopping them from dividing. Giving lenalidomide, thalidomide, and dexamethasone together may kill more cancer cells.
