Effectiveness

How Daysee Affects PatientsLevonorgestrel prevents pregnancy by stopping ovulation, fertilization, and implantation. If used according to instructions within 72 hours after sex, the emergency contraceptive pill containing levonorgestrel is 89% effective. The intrauterine and implantable devices with levonorgestrel are more than 99% effective in preventing pregnancy. Levonorgestrel can also be used in hormonal therapy to reduce the risk of endometrial cancer caused by taking estrogen.
How Daysee works in the bodyLevonorgestrel is a hormone that prevents ovulation, changes the consistency of cervical mucus and affects endometrial receptivity. It works by binding to progesterone and androgen receptors, which slows the release of gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) from the hypothalamus, preventing the release of luteinizing hormone (LH) surge that normally precedes ovulation. It also thickens cervical mucus to prevent sperm from entering the uterus. When combined with estrogens for hormone therapy, it reduces the risk of unopposed estrogen therapy leading to endometrial cancer.

Daysee for Birth Control
I've been using this birth control pill for a few years with great success. I take it as soon as I wake up and my periods have been exactly on schedule, every three months. The cramping during my period is manageable with some over the counter painkillers.

Daysee for Painful Periods
I had heavy, painful periods so I decided to give Daysee a try. At first, I had some breakthrough bleeding for a few weeks, but it eventually cleared up. My hormones have been so much better since starting this medication--I feel like a whole new person! If you're considering this treatment, definitely talk to your doctor to see if it's right for you.

Daysee for Painful Periods
I've been on this pill for two months now, and everything was going great until I started spotting/bleeding a week ago. It's been constant for two weeks now with no sign of stopping. I also gained eight pounds since starting the pill, but I'm not sure if that's due to the pill or other factors ( holidays, lack of self control). Either way, I'm getting sick of all this bleeding!

Daysee for Birth Control
I liked using daysee, but unfortunately I started spotting and having cramps on the seventh week. I also started breaking out in acne, which was really frustrating.

Daysee for Birth Control
I've been on this for 11 weeks and have been spotting since week 8. I don't like it at all - it's not enough to warrant a pad, but I have to wear a liner every day, which is annoying. My cramps aren't severe, but they have woken me up at night.

Daysee for Birth Control
I had great results the first year I used this medication. However, the second year was much different. I was bleeding for months on end and it really impacted my sex life. It did achieve its primary purpose of preventing pregnancy though.

Daysee for Birth Control
I have never been on birth control before and I'm 30 years old. I just had my first baby. My periods have always been terrible, so when I was offered this treatment, I thought every 3 months sounded great... Unfortunately, I've been bleeding since my very first pill. Definitely do not recommend Daysee BC to anyone.

I would not recommend this birth control to anyone. I experienced anxiety, migraines, and cramping within the first few months. The fifth month brought nonstop bleeding and even more pain.

Daysee for Birth Control
Overall, I had a really negative experience with this medication. The brown spotting began within the first week and continued throughout the entire second week. Additionally, my acne increased and my mood swings were out of control.

Daysee for Birth Control
Once I switched from Amethia to Daysee, I noticed a huge difference--and not in a good way. Suddenly, I was dealing with breakouts all over my face and body, cramps, PMS...it was like being on my period nonstop. It was absolutely terrible. Do not take this medicine!
