Effectiveness

How Vandazole Affects PatientsMetronidazole is used to treat certain types of bacterial and parasite infections. It works by damaging the DNA of the germs, making them unable to reproduce. It is mostly effective against anaerobic bacteria, but does not work against most other types of bacteria or parasites. It is important to be aware of the risk of convulsions and nerve damage that can occur when taking metronidazole, especially when taking large doses. If these side effects occur, the drug should be stopped immediately. Metronidazole has been linked to cancer in mice and rats, but it is not clear if this
How Vandazole works in the bodyMetronidazole is used to treat infections caused by certain bacteria and parasites. It is believed to work by blocking the production of essential molecules in these organisms, like DNA and electron-transport proteins. The drug enters cells and is then reduced to nitro radicals, which are toxic to anaerobic and microaerophilic organisms. This prevents the organisms from replicating, which eventually kills them.

When to interrupt dosage

The amount of Vandazole relies on the determined condition, for example Exposure via partner, Skin and Curling Ulcer. The measure of dosage fluctuates as per the technique of delivery (e.g. Capsule or Vaginal) featured in the table below.

Vandazole Toxicity & Overdose RiskThe most toxic dose of metronidazole for rats is 5000mg/kg. Symptoms of an overdose may include nerve issues, confusion, seizures, a reaction to alcohol, dark urine, a bad taste in the mouth, nausea, stomach pain, and dizziness, as well as a reduced number of white blood cells. There is no specific antidote for metronidazole overdose, so treatments involve supportive care and taking activated charcoal to remove any unabsorbed drug from the stomach. People should also contact their local poison control center for more information on how to manage an overdose.

Vandazole for Vaginosis caused by Bacteria
I saw a big difference after just one use, but I followed the instructions and used it for five days. I'm pretty confident that the infection is gone now.

Vandazole for Vaginosis caused by Bacteria
Unfortunately, this medication made my BV worse. It was very messy and I had to wear a mini pad constantly, which was really inconvenient. After using it for the recommended five days, my BV seemed worse than before I started taking the medication. I didn't experience any side effects, but at $15 per treatment, I feel like it should have been more effective. My doctor has now prescribed the pill form of flagyl (500 mg, 2x per day for 7 days) and I'm hopeful that it will clear up my BV.

Vandazole for Vaginosis caused by Bacteria
I got very dizzy and had pelvic cramping and nausea, and I didn't even drink any alcohol. I would rather be itchy!

Vandazole for Vaginosis caused by Bacteria
I had been dealing with post-menopausal BV for three months before I got a diagnosis, and this gel was prescribed to me. I was worried about the possible side effects (I've used oral flagyl in the past and it really messed up my stomach), but thankfully this just contains parabens and propylene glycol. The five days passed quickly enough, and my condition is much improved now.

Vandazole for Vaginosis caused by Bacteria
Unfortunately, this medication did not help me. I'm still in pain and now have to deal with a constant discharge and unpleasant odor. If anyone knows of an alternative treatment, please let me know!

Vandazole for Vaginosis caused by Bacteria
Unfortunately, I had to discontinue this medication early due to the large amount of clotting discharge, swelling and rash. It was very painful to use.

Vandazole for Vaginosis caused by Bacteria
I didn't have any success with this treatment, unfortunately. I'm looking into other options now. It's also important to note that I had a severe reaction to alcohol use while taking this drug. Do not drink alcohol, use mouthwash, or anything containing alcohol on your skin if you're taking this medication.

Vandazole for Vaginosis caused by Bacteria
I felt better after the fifth dose of this medicine. I had to take two doses per day due to a severe infection. After the fifth dose, I started feeling tired, but the itching was gone. I washed myself two to three times a day to avoid too much moisture and hopefully prevent another yeast infection. I am on my sixth dose now and believe that this medicine has cured my infection.

Vandazole for Vaginosis caused by Bacteria
I saw good results quickly, and it's been continuing to work well. The only downside is that I got sick after drinking alcohol--I hadn't realized that was a no-no while using this treatment!

This medication made my symptoms worse and caused a lot of terrible side effects. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Vandazole for Vaginosis caused by Bacteria
I was prescribed this, alongside an antibiotic, for irritation of my cervix and uterus. After taking the third dose of this medication, I experienced mild cramping. However, after the fourth dose, the cramping was unbearable. In my opinion, this medicine is not worth it.

I unfortunately had some negative reactions to this drug, including dry mouth and an increase in blood pressure. I only took half the recommended dose and still had these problems.
