Nuprin Toxicity & Overdose RiskTaking more than 99 mg/kg of ibuprofen can cause abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, fatigue, dizziness, vertigo, insomnia, headaches, fainting, ringing in the ears, depression of the central nervous system, seizures, and difficulty breathing. Very young pediatric patients may experience metabolic acidosis, abnormal liver function, high potassium levels, kidney failure, coma, and apnea. The toxic dose of ibuprofen for rats is 636 mg/kg, for mice is 740 mg/kg, and for guinea pigs is 495 mg/kg.
