Klor-Con Toxicity & Overdose Risk

Taking too much potassium orally usually won't cause serious issues, but when excretory mechanisms are impaired or the drug is taken intravenously too quickly, it can lead to fatal hyperkalemia. Symptoms of hyperkalemia include an increased blood potassium concentration and changes in heart rhythm. If left untreated, it can cause muscle paralysis and even death.

I had a potassium deficiency which was causing some heart problems, but after taking this medication for just a few days I saw a dramatic improvement. I've now been on it for nine months with no issues. Can't swallow pills so my doctor told me to dissolve one in eight ounces of water, then drink it all down. It dissolves quickly but settles at the bottom, so you have to swish it around to get it all. Overall very pleased with this medicine.
