Effectiveness
How Noritate Affects Patients
Metronidazole is an antibiotic used to treat certain bacterial and protozoal infections such as amebiasis, trichomoniasis, and giardiasis. It is effective against some types of anaerobic bacteria, but not against facultative anaerobes or obligate aerobes. Metronidazole works by causing DNA damage to the microbes it targets. It is important to be aware of the risks of taking metronidazole, including peripheral neuropathy, convulsions, and possible carcinogenicity in mice and rats. If convulsions or numbness occur, discontinue
How Noritate works in the body
Metronidazole works by entering cells and then blocking the production of proteins and DNA. This only works on anaerobic bacteria and protozoa, which have an electron-transport system that helps reduce the nitro group of metronidazole into nitro radicals. This reaction produces toxic metabolites that damage the DNA and proteins of the organism, leading to its death.
When to interrupt dosage
The suggested measure of Noritate is based on the identified ailment, including Exposure via partner, Skin and Curling Ulcer. The dosage amount fluctuates, contingent upon the technique of delivery (e.g. Capsule or Vaginal) noted in the table below.
