What is Celestone Soluspan

BetamethasoneThe Generic name of this drug
Treatment SummaryBetamethasone is a steroid medication used to reduce inflammation and suppress the immune system. It can be applied directly to the skin to treat inflammatory skin conditions like eczema, and it can also be taken orally or injected to treat autoimmune disorders. Betamethasone works by mimicking natural hormones in the body to reduce inflammation, but it does not affect sodium levels like other steroids.

Effectiveness

How Celestone Soluspan Affects PatientsCorticosteroids are drugs that help reduce inflammation and are usually taken in doses much higher than the amount the body naturally produces. Taking corticosteroids long-term can suppress the body's natural response to infection and illness, so patients should be aware of this risk.
How Celestone Soluspan works in the bodyGlucocorticoids, like betamethasone, work to prevent inflammation in the body. They stop white blood cells from breaking down, and reduce the activity of inflammatory proteins. Glucocorticoids also help increase the production of proteins that prevent inflammation. This happens through two pathways: a slower one that activates certain receptors, and a quicker one which uses existing receptors and molecules to stop inflammation.

When to interrupt dosage

The measure of Celestone Soluspan is contingent upon the recognized affliction, including Ankylosing Spondylitis, Adrenal cortical hypofunctions and Post Surgical Ocular Inflammation. The amount of dosage fluctuates as indicated by the method of delivery (e.g. Topical or Solution - Oral) featured in the table beneath.

Celestone Soluspan for Muscle Pain and Stiffness in Shoulder, Neck and Pelvis
I was pain-free for 16 months after receiving this injection
4.7Patient Review
9/22/2013
Celestone Soluspan for Inflammation of the Lining of a Joint
Not only did this treatment effectively address my knee pain, but I also saw increased libido and energy levels. For me, this was a much better solution than the depo-medrol injection.

Celestone Soluspan for Inflammation of the Lining of a Joint
I was feeling very nauseous but, thankfully, my shoulder pain had subsided. This is the first time in three months that I haven't been in pain and it's all thanks to this drug.
3.3Patient Review
7/22/2012
Celestone Soluspan for Rheumatoid Arthritis
This treatment provided temporary relief from the pain of RA.
3Patient Review
7/6/2009
Celestone Soluspan for Joint Disease which may include Attacks of Acute Arthritis
This treatment is effective for arthritis pain relief, but it comes with a cost. The first time I had the injection, I experienced terrible pain for 4-5 days afterwards. However, the pain subsided and I enjoyed almost complete relief for 6-7 months. I've just had my second injection 9 1/2 months after the first one, and so far (after only 2 hours) there has been no "steroid flare" as I was told might happen. Overall, it's worth enduring a little short-term pain for such long-term relief.
3Patient Review
9/30/2015
Celestone Soluspan for Bronchitis
I haven't slept in 24 hours and I'm eating everything in the house, but I feel better.
2.7Patient Review
5/1/2010
Celestone Soluspan for Inflammation of the Sac Surrounding the Joint - Bursitis
The injection wasn't fun, but it did effectively decrease the pain I was experiencing from bursitis. Almost immediately after the needle, there was a noticeable difference. I'm still dealing with some residual pain, so another injection may be necessary.
2.3Patient Review
8/18/2010
Celestone Soluspan for Inflammation of the Sac Surrounding the Joint - Bursitis
I've had several adverse effects from this drug, including flushing, high blood pressure, headaches, heart palpitations, insomnia and anxiety. I would never choose to take it again. This injection has also disrupted my menstrual cycle, which is something that has never happened to me before (with the exception of pregnancy).
2.3Patient Review
6/30/2012
Celestone Soluspan for Abnormal Development of Bronchopulmonary Tissue in Newborn
I took this medication to help get my twins ready for birth. However, after the second dose I had trouble breathing and the doctor said that wasn't a symptom. I'm terrified to take it again but if my twins come early maybe their lungs won't be ready. Am I being selfish? Does this make me a bad mom?
1.3Patient Review
10/24/2008
Celestone Soluspan for Joint Disease which may include Attacks of Acute Arthritis
I unfortunately experienced a lot of negative side effects from this treatment. I felt nauseous, had cold chills, a severe headache, and was very tired. On top of that, the pain I was originally trying to treat still persisted.

Celestone Soluspan for Joint Capsule Membrane Inflammation of a Diseased Joint
This did nothing to ease the pain in my knee.
1Patient Review
7/7/2014
Celestone Soluspan for Inflammation of the Sac Surrounding the Joint - Bursitis
This drug caused me severe insomnia, mood problems and memory issues. I would suggest avoiding it if at all possible.
