Treatment Summary
Dexlansoprazole is a type of proton pump inhibitor (PPI) used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and erosion of the esophagus. Unlike other PPIs, dexlansoprazole is released in two phases at different pH values and times, providing two peak concentrations in the blood within 1-2 hours and 4-5 hours after dosing. This helps prevent breakthrough symptoms and the need for meal-associated dosing. Dexlansoprazole works by inhibiting the (H+, K+)-ATPase enzyme, which is involved in

How Dexilant Solutab Affects Patients
Dexlansoprazole is a type of drug that helps reduce acid production in the stomach. It works by blocking the enzyme that produces acid in the stomach (H+, K+)-ATPase, which can reduce symptoms of heartburn and other acid-related issues.
How Dexilant Solutab works in the body
Dexlansoprazole works by inhibiting the enzyme that helps control the amount of acid produced in the stomach. This enzyme, known as H/K ATPase, is activated when it comes into contact with an acidic environment. Dexlansoprazole binds to the SH groups of the enzyme and prevents it from transporting hydrogen ions into the stomach, which reduces the amount of acid produced. Dexlansoprazole also has a special delivery system that releases 25% of the drug dose in the upper part of the small intestine and 75% in the lower part. This helps reduce both basal and stimulated gastric acid production.
When to interrupt dosage
The dosage of Dexilant Solutab is subject to the revealed condition, such as healed erosive esophagitis, symptomatic non-erosive gastroesphageal reflux disease and Heartburn. The degree of dosage is contingent upon the administration technique (e.g. Capsule, delayed release or Tablet, orally disintegrating, delayed release) outlined in the table beneath.

Dexilant Solutab Toxicity & Overdose Risk
The highest dose of DEXILANT that is not toxic to mice, rats, and dogs is greater than 5,000 mg/kg. Common side effects include diarrhea, stomach pain, nausea, upper respiratory infection, vomiting, and gas. There have not been reports of serious overdose, but serious increases in blood pressure have been associated with taking twice daily doses of DEXILANT 60 mg. Animal studies have shown that long-term use of DEXILANT could cause cancer in rats. It is not expected to affect fertility or reproductive systems.
