How Danocrine Affects Patients
Danazol is a synthetic steroid based on testosterone. It was the first drug approved to treat endometriosis, but its use has been largely replaced by other medications. Danazol reduces the pituitary gland's production of hormones that control the reproductive system and has some androgenic properties.
How Danocrine works in the body
Danazol works to reduce inflammation by suppressing the body's ovarian function. It does this by preventing the release of hormones from the pituitary gland, as well as blocking the body's ability to produce estrogen. It also lowers concentrations of certain antibodies and decreases ovarian production of estrogen. All of these effects work together to reduce inflammation and stop endometriosis, fibrocystic breast disease, and hereditary angioedema.
When to interrupt dosage
The measure of Danocrine is contingent upon the diagnosed affliction, including Thrombocytopenia, Endometriosis and Angioedemas, Hereditary. The amount of dosage differs, subject to the technique of delivery (e.g. Capsule or Oral) provided in the table underneath.

Patient Q&A Section about danocrine
These questions and answers are submitted by anonymous patients, and have not been verified by our internal team.
What is danocrine used for?
"While Danocrine is most commonly used to treat endometriosis and fibrocystic breast disease, it can also be used to prevent attacks of angioedema in people with an inherited form of the disorder. The brand name Danocrine has been discontinued, but generic versions are likely still available."

Why would a man take danazol?
"This medication is also used in both men and women to prevent swelling of the abdomen/arms/legs/face/airway due to a certain congenital disease (hereditary angioedema). Danazol is a synthetic hormone similar to testosterone."
Answered by AI
Is danocrine a steroid?
"In the liver, it suppresses cholesterol synthesis.
Danocrine is a drug that has many different effects on the body. It works by binding to certain proteins in the body, which affects the production of hormones. It also affects the way cholesterol is made in the liver."
Answered by AI
What is danazol mechanism of action?
"Danazol suppresses the pituitary gland's output of gonadotropins, which in turn reduces hormone levels in the body. Danazol also has some androgenic properties, meaning it can promote male characteristics. The liver breaks down Danazol into two main metabolites: ethisterone and 17-hydroxymethylethisterone."
