How Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride works in the bodyCiprofloxacin is an antibiotic that works by targeting a specific enzyme in bacteria. Ciprofloxacin Hydrochloride Toxicity & Overdose RiskOverdosing on ciprofloxacin may cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, and decreased urine output. It can also cause kidney failure, which can lead to permanent damage. The lowest toxic dose for rats is greater than 2000mg/kg. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should weigh the risks and benefits of ciprofloxacin before taking it. In laboratory tests, ciprofloxacin has been linked to mutations, but doses up to 300 times the recommended amount have not caused cancer or fertility problems in animals.

1/27/2020 I've found that this drug makes a real difference after just a few 500mg tabs. This has been true for many years now. My immune system seems to become compromised with a urinary track infection, bronchitis, pain in a knee joint, and a general feeling of illness all at the same time. 9/21/2016 I had to take this and Metronidazole both in 500 mg dosage. One of the 2 gave me diarrhea. I was also retaining water and had weight gain. I hope by the end of taking these, it all gets better.

6/7/2019 I tried Ciprofloxacin twice and saw no results. I'm currently taking BACTRIM DS 800-160MG, but still seeing no relief. I don't know how much longer I can go on like this.

8/20/2022 I've only been taking this for two days and I'm already feeling bad side effects. My forearms and calves feel like I worked them out for hours, and I'm getting cramps and tightness in them. I workout every day so I'm used to sore muscles, but this is different. On top of all that, I'm feeling overall weak and fatigued.

7/30/2018 This medication had some pretty severe side effects for me, including headaches, a sore throat, memory and concentration problems, muscle fatigue, joint pain and gastrointestinal issues. I stopped taking it after the second dose and have no intention of ever taking this type of medication again.

6/30/2017 I kept getting UTIs even though penicillin stopped working, but cipro really did the trick. The only downside was that I experienced some sensitivity in my feet and a bit of rash. Does this mean I'm allergic?
