Effectiveness

How Asmanex Twisthaler Affects Patients

Mometasone is a type of synthetic steroid. It has a stronger effect on the body's glucocorticoid receptors than other similar drugs, and it is more selective in its action on the body's mineralocorticoid receptors. Once it is taken, mometasone furoate moves through the cells and activates pathways that decrease inflammation.

How Asmanex Twisthaler works in the body

Mometasone helps to reduce asthma symptoms by limiting the activity of mast cells, eosinophils, basophils, and lymphocytes. It also works to reduce the effects of histamine, leukotrienes, and cytokines. This is done by the drug binding to a glucocorticoid receptor in the cell. This binding causes the receptor to move to the nucleus of the cell, where it then dimerizes and binds to a DNA sequence called the glucocorticoid response element. The glucocorticoid response element helps to reduce inflammation by blocking certain transcription factors.

When to interrupt dosage

The measure of Asmanex Twisthaler is contingent upon the perceived ailment, including Dermatitis, Eczematous caused by superficial Fungal skin contamination, Psoriasis and Skin Diseases, Eczematous. Asmanex Twisthaler Toxicity & Overdose Risk

Taking too much of a mometasone furoate inhaler can cause excessive amounts of cortisol and adrenal gland suppression. Animal studies have shown that taking a high enough dose of the drug may cause fetal harm, so pregnant patients should carefully weigh the risks and benefits. The drug may be present in breast milk, so caution should be used when administering to nursing mothers. Kids may experience slower growth and should take the lowest effective dose for the inhaler. Elderly patients may be more sensitive to the drug, and those with moderate to severe liver problems should be cautious when taking the medication. It's unknown how the drug affects renal impairment

Asmanex Twisthaler for Asthma

Overall, this treatment was effective in reducing my asthma symptoms and I didn't have to use my emergency inhaler as much. However, there were some side effects that came along with it for me, including insomnia, joint pain, and irritability. Cannabis is a better option for me since it doesn't have the same side effects.

Asmanex Twisthaler for Asthma

I found that the medication didn't always work by itself, so I started to research other methods. I heard that certain vegetables could help if eaten regularly, so I started drinking smoothies with veggies 2-3 times a week. This method almost completely stopped my attacks.

Asmanex Twisthaler for Controller Medication for Asthma

I refused to take this medication 2 years ago because I don't suffer from asthma and I exercise 4 times a week. But pneumologist insists I could be breathing better based on my test results. After less than 1 week of taking this poison, I started feeling chest tightness, overall weakness, nausea and insomnia. So I took this so-called medecine and threw in the trash. Thanks for everything doc.

Asmanex Twisthaler for Asthma

I was on this medication for a while and it gave me some serious heartburn. I also started to become really paranoid, which is not like me at all. Additionally, I noticed that my short-term memory was getting worse and worse. Once I stopped taking the asmanex, though, my short-term memory came back within just a couple of weeks.

Asmanex Twisthaler for Asthma

I had a lot of trouble breathing at night last year to the point where I would wake up gasping for air. My doctor prescribed an emergency inhaler, but it didn't do anything. eventually, they put me on Twisthaler. It was confusing to use at first, but it worked. However, my nasal passageway still gets restricted from the same allergy that affects my lungs, so I have to use a nasal spray in addition to the Twisthaler or I'll still have trouble breathing at night.

I'm very suspicious of the doctor who switched me from Advair. I don't feel comfortable taking a medication that has such potential dangers, according to the informational insert.

Asmanex Twisthaler for Asthma

Even after getting used to the new inhalation steps, I didn't see as much improvement as I did with other drugs. The price is still outrageous, but it has been effective in reducing the frequency and severity of my asthma attacks.

Asmanex Twisthaler for Asthma

I've been taking this for years and it's the only one that works for me. I tried switching to Singulair a few years ago because of insurance/price, but I got pneumonia within a couple weeks and had to switch back immediately.

GX-03 for Eczema

18 - 70
All Sexes
Irving, TX

This is a randomized, double-blind, vehicle-controlled clinical study designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of GX-03, a topically applied emollient, in adult subjects with moderate to severe eczema. Approximately 120 adult participants will be enrolled and randomized in a 1:1 ratio to receive either GX-03 or a petrolatum-based vehicle control for 8 consecutive weeks. Efficacy will be assessed using validated clinical outcome measures, including the Eczema Area and Severity Index (EASI), the Validated Investigator Global Assessment for Atopic Dermatitis (vIGA-AD™), and the Peak Pruritus Numeric Rating Scale (PP-NRS). Safety will be evaluated through monitoring of treatment-emergent adverse events throughout the study period.

Tailored Recommendations for Infant Gut Microbiome

No minimum age - 3
All Sexes
Austin, TX

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether microbiome analysis, education, and personalized recommendations can improve gut health and reduce early markers of immune-related conditions in infants aged 0-3 months delivered via Cesarean section. The study aims to determine whether these interventions can increase beneficial bacteria, decrease C-section-associated microbiome signatures, reduce opportunistic pathogens, and improve functional potential for HMO digestion and SCFA production. The study also seeks to assess whether improvements in microbiome composition are associated with a reduced prevalence of early atopic symptoms. Researchers will compare three groups: a full intervention arm that receives microbiome reports, coaching, personalized recommendations, and educational materials; a limited intervention arm that receives simplified reports and basic recommendations; and a control arm that receives no results until study completion. This design allows evaluation of both a comprehensive intervention and a more scalable, minimal-results model. Participants will: 1. Provide six microbiome stool samples over a 24-month period. 2. Provide additional small stool samples at two timepoints for exploratory metabolomic analysis. 3. Receive microbiome reports and guidance according to their assigned study arm. 4. Complete surveys on infant health history, symptoms, diet, and environmental exposures. 5. Participate in standardized eczema assessment(s) administered by a Nurse Practitioner and evaluated by a Pediatric Allergy Specialist if any symptoms are reported. This study seeks to demonstrate that targeted microbiome support can positively shift gut microbial development in C-section infants and may reduce risks linked to the early stages of the atopic march. Findings may inform scalable strategies for delivering microbiome-based support in early life and improve long-term health outcomes for this high-risk population.

VR-Enhanced PMR for Post-Burn Symptoms

18+
All Sexes
Baltimore, MD

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether progressive muscle relaxation (PMR), delivered either alone or enhanced with virtual reality (VR), can help treat chronic symptom, such as pain, itch, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and fatigue, in adult burn survivors. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does VR-enhanced PMR (VR-PMR) reduce chronic pain, anxiety, itch, sleep disturbances, and fatigue more effectively than standard PMR? * Is VR-PMR a feasible and acceptable self-administered home-based intervention for burn survivors? Researchers will compare two self-administered intervention conditions, VR-enhanced PMR and standard PMR, using a randomized to sequence crossover design to see if VR technology enhances the therapeutic effects of PMR on chronic symptom management in burn survivors. Participants will: * Complete home-based sessions of VR-enhanced PMR * Complete home-based sessions of standard PMR * Report symptoms such as pain, itch, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and fatigue throughout the study * Use VR equipment provided for the intervention period (during the VR-PMR arm)

Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment for Asthma

18 - 60
All Sexes
Mayfield Heights, OH

Asthma is a common respiratory condition that can be difficult to control despite the use of medications such as inhalers, oral steroids or even injectable medications. Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) is a hands-on technique used to improve the chest structure and function and may help in improving breathing. Previous research showed that OMT in asthma patients, can improve the movement of the ribs and improve the "peak flow" which is the maximum rate at which a person can exhale air after taking a deep breath. However, no studies have evaluated the impact of OMT on lung inflammation. This single-site research study at University Hospitals aims to evaluate whether Osteopathic Manipulative Treatment (OMT) can reduce lung inflammation and improve breathing and lung function in adult patients with asthma. The lung function will be evaluated by Spirometry which is a test that measures how much air you can breathe in and out of your lungs, as well as how quickly and easily you can exhale air. The lung inflammation will be measured using a device that can detect how much you are breathing out Nitric Oxide which is a gas produced by inflamed cells in the lungs, this test is called: Fractional exhaled Nitric Oxide or FeNO. Approximately 100 participants will be enrolled.

Inhaled Corticosteroids + Azithromycin for Asthma

13 - 75
All Sexes
Aurora, CO

While asthma therapy is becoming more individualized based on asthma phenotypes, more research is needed to tailor newer therapies to individuals. Inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) medications are the foundation of care for all individuals with persistent asthma. But ICS use is not without possible long term side effects. This study will compare two currently available approaches to reduce AEX in primary care patients: (1) use of inhaled corticosteroids (ICS) as part of rescue therapy, also known as MART (Maintenance And Reliever Therapy) or PARTICS (Patient Activated Reliever Trigger Inhaled Corticosteriods) therapy - either of these therapies will be called Rescue-Inhaled Corticosteroids or R-ICS pronounced "Ricks," and (2) use of azithromycin (AZ) as a preventive therapy. These treatments will be studied both individually and in combination.

Salbutamol for Athletic Performance

18 - 55
All Sexes
Vancouver, Canada

β2-Agonists, commonly used to treat asthma, have also been used by athletes to enhance performance, leading to their ban by the International Olympic Committee in 1972. Research has shown non-asthmatics receive no benefit from these drugs at therapeutic dosages; however, many elite athletes still use them, and asthmatic athletes often win more Olympic medals. In some non-asthmatics, β2-agonists may improve breathing limitations during high intensity exercise, which may improve performance. Therefore, we aim to examine if there is a select group of non-asthmatic individuals who experience breathing limitations that may receive benefit from β2-agonists.
