Effectiveness
How Zafirlukast Affects PatientsZafirlukast is a drug used to prevent and treat asthma. It works by blocking the actions of leukotrienes, which are compounds that can cause airway constriction in people with asthma. This drug has been shown to inhibit the contractile activity of three different leukotrienes in laboratory animals and humans, as well as reduce the swelling and influx of eosinophils caused by leukotrienes in animal lungs.
How Zafirlukast works in the bodyZafirlukast blocks the body's response to two types of leukotriene, which are involved in the process of asthma. Leukotrienes increase airway swelling, muscle tightening, and inflammation, which all contribute to the symptoms of asthma. By blocking these leukotrienes, Zafirlukast helps reduce the severity of asthma symptoms.

Zafirlukast Reviews: What are patients saying about Zafirlukast?
5Patient Review
4/3/2013 This drug is essential for my well-being. I have been taking it regularly for at least fifteen years, and if I forget to take it even for a day, I struggle to breathe.
5Patient Review
3/7/2013 I made the switch to this medication from Singulair, and I'm really happy that I did. Not only has it been effective, but it's also much cheaper.
5Patient Review
5/31/2018 Before I started this treatment, I was constantly wheezing and coughing. It didn't matter if I was sitting, standing, or lying down; I couldn't get a break. And forget about trying to sleep through the night! But since starting this medication, it's like those problems never existed.
5Patient Review
7/21/2018 Accolate has been much more effective for me than Singulair, especially in terms of my asthma and sinus polyps. I have AERD, so this is a big deal for me.
4.7Patient Review
7/1/2013 I completely agree that this treatment has been a miracle for me. I did have some short-term side effects, but they were nothing compared to how much it's helped me overall. I've been taking it since 2009 and it's allowed me to lead a normal life again. I hardly even notice my breathing now, so when there are problems I can identify them quickly and take care of them. Sleeping better at night has also helped reduce my fatigue during the day.
