How Urso Forte Affects Patients
Ursodiol (also known as ursodeoxycholic acid) is a type of acid that is produced by bacteria in the intestine. It helps to break down dietary fat and helps regulate cholesterol levels by slowing down the rate at which the intestine can absorb it. Ursodeoxycholic acid can also break down micelles containing cholesterol, making it a useful treatment for gallstones that cannot be removed surgically.
How Urso Forte works in the body
Ursodeoxycholic acid helps reduce high levels of liver enzymes by making it easier for bile to flow through the liver and protecting the liver cells. We don't know all the details of how it works, but it likely involves reducing the amount of cholesterol in bile. This reduces the amount of cholesterol in gallstones, which can eventually dissolve them away.

Description
Capmatinib
Major
The serum concentration of Capmatinib can be decreased when it is combined with Ursodeoxycholic acid.
Rimegepant
Major
The metabolism of Rimegepant can be increased when combined with Ursodeoxycholic acid.
Astemizole
Moderate
Ursodeoxycholic acid may decrease the excretion rate of Astemizole which could result in a higher serum level.
Atazanavir
Moderate
Ursodeoxycholic acid may decrease the excretion rate of Atazanavir which could result in a higher serum level.
Atenolol
Moderate
Ursodeoxycholic acid may decrease the excretion rate of Atenolol which could result in a higher serum level.
Urso Forte Toxicity & Overdose Risk
Ursodeoxycholic acid has not been linked to any overdose cases. While doses of 16-20 mg/kg/day have been tolerated for extended periods of time, high doses of 5000 mg/kg for rats or 7500 mg/kg for mice can cause diarrhea. If an overdose occurs, the symptoms should be treated accordingly.
