Effectiveness

How Sanctura Affects PatientsTrospium is a drug used to treat overactive bladder, which can cause sudden urges to urinate and frequent trips to the bathroom. It works by blocking activity in the muscles that control the bladder. Compared to other drugs, Trospium has a higher affinity for muscle receptors, meaning it will be more effective at lower doses.
How Sanctura works in the bodyTrospium works against the effects of the chemical acetylcholine on the body. It relaxes the muscles of the bladder to reduce its tension.

Sanctura for Overactive Bladder
I've been taking Sanctura for a little over a week now and it seems to be working. I'm not thrilled about the soreness I're feeling in my groin area, but hopefully that will go away with time.

Sanctura for Overactive Bladder
I've tried Sanctura for several years now, and it's never really helped me. I had two bladder sling surgeries but the leakage has never stopped. So, I guess I'll have to wear pads for the rest of my life. Enablex didn't work because I was allergic to it; Toviaz seemed effective but made me gain weight quickly and feel constipated and uncomfortable. Next, I'm going to try Ditropan.

Sanctura for Overactive Bladder
This medication finally provided relief when other commonly prescribed options failed. The side effects of dry mouth and blurry vision were a bit of a problem, especially in the morning. I'm going to try taking this med at night and see if it is better. Either way, those side effects are still preferable to having accidents.

Sanctura for Overactive Bladder
This medication has worked wonders for me. I no longer have to wear pads due to my Oab problem. The only downside is that I experience a dry mouth, but it's a small price to pay for the relief this drug has given me.

Detrol caused me some constipation problems so I decided to give this a try. The results were better than nothing, though not great. I also didn't experience any negative side effects, which was nice.

I've only been taking this for a week to address my OAB/IC. However, I began having severe abdominal bloating and pain the second day of useage. This has been an every day occurrence since then. I'm not sure if I can continue down this treatment path much longer.

Sanctura has helped me to urinate less frequently and with less pressure, however the side effects are pretty harsh. I'm debating whether or not the benefits are worth it.

Sanctura for Frequent Urination
I was recommended by my doctor to take this medication once daily for six weeks, in order to accurately gauge its effectiveness. After only three and a half weeks, I've already found it to be helpful; I'm using the restroom much less frequently than before. Additionally, while it does cause me to have a dry mouth, that's also been beneficial in a sense as it encourages me to drink more water - something which I know is good for my health but haven't always made a habit of doing.

Sanctura for Overactive Bladder
I experienced some serious side effects after starting Sanctura that weren't reported by the manufacturer. I gained fifteen pounds, felt fatigue and muscle pain, and needed to lie down every two hours. These symptoms were new since starting the medication. While it did help with my depression, the trade-off wasn't worth it.

Detrusor Nerve Radiofrequency Ablation for Overactive Bladder

22 - 80
Female
Palo Alto, CA
The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if a vaginal radiofrequency (RF) device called MORPHEUSV works to treat overactive bladder (OAB) in women. Researchers also want to learn how safe the device is for this indication. This study will include women ages 22 to 80 who have had OAB symptoms for at least 6 months. The main questions it aims to answer are: Does the MORPHEUSV device lower the number of daily episodes of accidental urine leakage caused by urgency? Does it work better than a sham (placebo) treatment? Researchers will compare the MORPHEUSV device to a sham treatment to see how well it reduces symptoms of overactive bladder. Participants will: 1) Receive one session of either the MORPHEUSV or sham treatment. 2) Track their symptoms using a diary and questionnaires 3) Return for three to six follow-up visits over 12 months. This study is being conducted at multiple clinics in the United States.

Nerve Ablation for Overactive Bladder

21 - 80
Female
Corona Del Mar, CA
The goal of this Safety and efficacy of transvaginal Detrusor Nerve Ablation for treatment of overactive bladder symptoms, including refractory overactive bladder The main questions it aims to answer are: •Change from baseline to the end of treatment in a 3-day diary analysis to assess the reduction of urgency incontinence episodes. \[Time Frame: 3 months\] Subjects will undergo one treatment session and be reassessed at 4 weeks post-treatment. If less than a 50% improvement is noted, a second and third treatment session will be performed at 4-week intervals. If more than a 50% improvement is noted, patients will be followed longitudinally to assess the durability of the treatment. Investigators will have the ability to initiate a second and or third treatment on an individual basis. Follow-up will occur at 3- months, 6-months and 12 months after the subject's last treatment.

Sacral Neuromodulation for Urge Incontinence

18+
Female
Chicago, IL
Sacral neuromodulation (SNM) was approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of urgency incontinence (UUI) in 1998. One of two trial phase techniques are utilized prior to placement of the implantable pulse generator (IPG) to predict a patient's success with the device: a percutaneous nerve evaluation (PNE) or a stage implantation. Patients who experience a \> 50% improvement in UUI symptoms progress to permanent implantation. PNE offers significant advantages compared to a staged implantation including a single anesthetic and operating room trip. Historically, full implantation rates are only 40-50% following PNE versus 70-90% in women who undergo a staged approach. The lower rate of progression to full implantation after PNE may be attributed to lead migration. Newer data suggest up to 90% of PNE trials lead to full implantation. The investigators hypothesize that shortening PNE trial time to 3 days from 7 days will not result in a lower proportion of PNE trials leading to SNM implantation and may offer less time for lead migration. The investigators aim to perform a multi-center, randomized trial to determine if a 3-day PNE trial is not inferior to a 7-day PNE trial with respect to rates of progression to SNM implantation.

Extended Release Torsemide for Overactive Bladder in Heart Failure

18+
All Sexes
Dallas, TX
This research study is being done to compare the effectiveness two drugs: an extended release torsemide (ERT) versus generic immediate release Torsemide (IRT) in reducing the worsening of symptoms of Overactive Bladder (OAB i.e., frequency, urgency, or urgency incontinence) in patients with chronic congestive heart failure (CHF). This study will include CHF patients who experience worsening OAB) symptoms with use of a loop diuretic. The total duration of the study is about eight weeks with a total of nine visits. There will be a screening visit that lasts one to two hours. The screening visit includes history and physical exams, blood draws, and urine analysis. If eligible for the study, participants will receive either generic torsemide or extended release torsemide for the first four weeks. Participants will do a virtual research visit on week one, two and three to submit a symptom diary and answer a questionnaire about urinary symptoms. At four weeks, history and physician exam will be done and blood will be collected. Participants will be assigned to receive either extended release torsemide (if they initially received generic torsemide) and generic torsemide (if they initially received extended release torsemide) for the next four weeks. Participants will attend virtual research visits on week five, six and seven to submit a symptom diary and answer a questionnaire about urinary symptoms. At the end of the study in week eight, they will have history and physical exams and blood draws. Some risks from the study may include side effects of torsemide like acute kidney injury, fluid/electrolyte loss, hypersensitivity reactions and reversible hearing loss/tinnitus.
