Effectiveness

How Enstilar Affects Patients

Corticosteroids are drugs that reduce inflammation and can be used to treat a wide range of conditions. The body naturally produces corticosteroids, but patients may need to take a higher dose than what is made naturally. People taking corticosteroids long-term need to be aware that it can suppress the body's natural hormone production and make them more prone to infections.

How Enstilar works in the body

Glucocorticoids like betamethasone work by reducing inflammation. They can do this through two main pathways. The first is through blocking molecules that cause inflammation, like arachidonic acid derivatives and NF-Kappa B. The second way is by promoting anti-inflammatory molecules and genes, like interleukin-10. Betamethasone also works quickly by modulating T-cell, platelet and monocyte activity.

When to interrupt dosage

The proposed dosage of Enstilar is contingent upon the determined affliction, including Ankylosing Spondylitis, Adrenal cortical hypofunctions and Post Surgical Ocular Inflammation. The amount of dosage varies, depending on the delivery technique (e.g. Topical or Solution - Oral) listed in the following table.

Enstilar for Plaque Psoriasis

I've tried so many things for my chronic skin condition, and this is the only one that's worked. It's also very affordable, which is great since insurance companies often don't cover these kinds of treatments.

Enstilar for Plaque Psoriasis

I was amazed at how well this topical medication worked on my psoriasis! I had been prescribed it by my dermatologist to use only once a day on visible areas, and within days I could see results. My skin is now clear and I am no longer self-conscious about exposing it in public.

Enstilar for Plaque Psoriasis

Dovobet didn't work well for me over the course of several years, but Enstilar foam showed results immediately. I was told to use it once a day for two weeks, and then only twice a week after that. Not only did the dry, dead skin stop appearing almost immediately, but the itching stopped too. The only downside is that my skin is now pink and looks red after bathing, but that's a small price to pay for being itch-free.

Enstilar for Plaque Psoriasis

My mother, a retired nurse, has been dealing with psoriasis for 30 years. In the past two years, it's gotten worse and spread across her body. She's tried so many creams with no success. This one worked within a week--it's truly a miracle! Other steroids never did anything. If you're in the same boat, please give this treatment a try!

Enstilar for Plaque Psoriasis

Enstilar is, by far, the best psoriasis medication I've tried in the last three years. If you leave it on for two days and then have a bath, it removes scabby plaques really well. Additionally, a few 12-minute sessions on a sunbed clears up any red patches that are left behind. Just be sure to wash it off thoroughly before using a sunbed or you'll end up with bad burns!

BI 3000202 for Lupus

18 - 74
All Sexes
Beverly Hills, CA

This study is open to adults with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE). The purpose of this study is to find out whether a medicine called BI 3000202 helps people with SLE. The study tests different doses of BI 3000202 and aims to find the best dose for people with this condition. Participants are put into 5 groups randomly, which means by chance. 4 groups get different doses of BI 3000202, and 1 group gets a placebo. Placebo tablets look like BI 3000202 tablets but do not contain any medicine. Participants take the tablets for 1 year. All participants also continue their regular treatment for SLE. Participants are in the study for a bit longer than 1 year. During this time, they visit the study site regularly. Doctors check the participants' health and take note of any unwanted effects. They also compare the results between the groups to see if the treatment works.

Vancomycin for Ulcerative Colitis

18+
All Sexes
Hamilton, Canada

This clinical trial tests if oral vancomycin can safely treat active ulcerative colitis (UC) in adults who also have primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC), a liver condition. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Can oral vancomycin improve UC symptoms as measured by Mayo score at 4 weeks? * Is oral vancomycin safe and tolerable in this patient group? Participants will be compared to see if vancomycin works better than placebo. Participants will: * Take oral vancomycin (250 mg twice daily) or identical placebo capsules for 4 weeks * Have the option for 4 more weeks of open-label vancomycin after the blinded phase * Attend clinic visits at baseline, week 4, and follow-up for Mayo scoring, endoscopy, blood/stool tests, and safety checks * Track treatment adherence and side effects The study primarily assesses if the trial can recruit 14 participants, retain them, achieve good adherence, and follow protocol procedures (feasibility). Secondary goals include safety (adverse events) and early signs of benefit in UC activity, liver tests, and gut bacteria balance. This pilot will guide larger future studies.

VR-Enhanced PMR for Post-Burn Symptoms

18+
All Sexes
Baltimore, MD

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn whether progressive muscle relaxation (PMR), delivered either alone or enhanced with virtual reality (VR), can help treat chronic symptom, such as pain, itch, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and fatigue, in adult burn survivors. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Does VR-enhanced PMR (VR-PMR) reduce chronic pain, anxiety, itch, sleep disturbances, and fatigue more effectively than standard PMR? * Is VR-PMR a feasible and acceptable self-administered home-based intervention for burn survivors? Researchers will compare two self-administered intervention conditions, VR-enhanced PMR and standard PMR, using a randomized to sequence crossover design to see if VR technology enhances the therapeutic effects of PMR on chronic symptom management in burn survivors. Participants will: * Complete home-based sessions of VR-enhanced PMR * Complete home-based sessions of standard PMR * Report symptoms such as pain, itch, anxiety, sleep disturbances, and fatigue throughout the study * Use VR equipment provided for the intervention period (during the VR-PMR arm)

Meal Macronutrients for Blood Fat Levels

18 - 120
All Sexes
Bethesda, MD

Background: Abnormal fats in the blood can lead to many problems, including heart disease. Researchers want to learn more about how eating meals with different levels of nutrients affects fats in the blood. Specifically, they want to study people with too much body fat, too little body fat, and a kidney problem called nephrotic syndrome. Objective: To learn more about how different types of foods affect fat levels in the blood. Eligibility: People aged 18 years or older with a health condition that affects how their body handles fats. Healthy volunteers are also needed. Design: Participants will have 2 overnight stays in the clinic within 6 months. At each visit, after staying overnight, they will eat a breakfast casserole. At 1 visit, breakfast will be a high-fat, low carbohydrate meal. At the other, it will be a high-carbohydrate, low-fat meal. Participants will have a tube inserted into a vein in their arm. They will have blood drawn via the tube 12 times in 8 hours: 2 times before they eat the breakfast and 10 times after. Participants will have other tests during their stays: * A resting metabolic test captures the air they exhale and measures how much energy they use at rest. * A dual energy X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) scan measures how much fat and muscle they have. * A Fibroscan is a special type of ultrasound of the liver. * A body surface scan uses lasers to measure the total area of the body. * A bioelectric impedance (BIS) exam measures how fast small electric currents move through their body. Participants may opt to have a third visit. At this visit, the breakfast will be high in protein.

The goal of this clinical trial is to evaluate whether disease remission can be maintained when biologic therapy is reduced in patients with Crohn"s disease (CD) and ulcerative colitis (UC) taking ustekinumab (UST). The main question it aims to answer is: Can we de-escalate UST subcutaneous dose either from every 4 weeks (Q4) to every 8 weeks (Q8) or every 8 weeks (Q8) to every 12 weeks (Q12) in CD or UC patients in deep remission without loosing their response? Researchers will follow UST blood levels, inflammation markers and intestinal mucosa integrity and to see if UST dose can be reduced while maintaining clinical remission. Participants will: Change UST dosing from Q4 to Q8 or from Q8 to Q12. Visit the clinic once every 12 weeks for checkups and tests.
