4/3/2019 My doctor put me on Benicar 20/12.5 HCTZ to help control my blood pressure. I switched to the generic olmesartan a year ago, and my BP started rising again six months ago. Apparently, there is a range of effectiveness depending on the manufacturer. My BP spiked again to 145/100 range, topping out at 165/118. I started a new dose of generic Olmesartan HCTZ 40/12.5 today, so we'll see how that works out.
