Effectiveness

How Nizoral Affects PatientsSalicylic acid is used to treat acne by helping dead skin cells fall off more easily, keeping pores from becoming clogged. It is also an ingredient in some shampoos that treat dandruff. People with darker skin may experience discoloration if salicylic acid is not used with a broad-spectrum sunscreen. Salicylic acid, in combination with bismuth, is also used in Pepto-Bismol, which helps with stomach discomfort, nausea, heartburn, and gas. It is also slightly antibacterial.
How Nizoral works in the bodySalicylic acid is used to help reduce inflammation and pain. It is also used in skin care products to treat acne, psoriasis, calluses, corns, keratosis pilaris, and warts. It helps skin cells slough off more easily, which is why it's used in dandruff shampoos. Salicylic acid also interferes with the production of certain molecules that are needed for wound healing.

What does Nizoral used for?

"Ketoconazole is used to treat various fungal infections of the skin such as athlete's foot, jock itch, ringworm, and dandruff. It can also treat a skin condition known as pityriasis (tinea versicolor), which is characterized by a lightening or darkening of the skin on the neck, chest, arms, or legs."

Answered by AI

Is it OK to use Nizoral shampoo everyday?

"How often should I use Nizoral?

You only need to use it every 3 to 4 days (twice a week) for 8 weeks. On the days you don't use Nizoral, you can use your regular shampoo and conditioner."

Answered by AI

How long does it take Nizoral to work?

"If you're using Nizoral to treat dandruff, you should start seeing results after the first wash. In most cases, dandruff will be gone within two weeks. If your scalp hasn't cleared up after four weeks, it's possible that you don't have dandruff and you should seek advice from a healthcare professional."

Answered by AI

What does Nizoral do to your hair?
