What is Flector

AvobenzoneThe Generic name of this drug
Treatment SummaryDiclofenac is a type of non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to reduce pain and inflammation. It works by inhibiting enzymes that produce substances that cause inflammation and pain. Diclofenac is commonly used to treat acute and chronic pain from various causes and is often used with another medication, misoprostol, to prevent stomach ulcers caused by NSAIDs. It was first approved by the FDA in 1988 under the brand name Voltaren.

Effectiveness

How Flector Affects PatientsDiclofenac works to reduce inflammation, pain, and fever. Unfortunately, it also decreases the amount of protective mucus in the stomach, which increases the risk of developing ulcers.
How Flector works in the bodyDiclofenac blocks the production of prostaglandins, molecules involved in pain and inflammation. By blocking them, it reduces the sensitivity of nerves to pain signals, and prevents the blood vessels from widening and increasing nutrient flow. It also stops white blood cells from flowing to sites of inflammation. Lower doses of diclofenac reduce inflammation, while higher doses decrease the immune response. Additionally, diclofenac blocks prostaglandins from crossing the blood-brain barrier, reducing the activity of thermoregulatory neurons in the hypothalamus and preventing fevers.

When to interrupt dosage

The measure of Flector is contingent upon the indicated condition, like Joint Pain, Postoperative Inflammatory Response and Osteoarthritis (OA). Dosage additionally relies upon the method of delivery (e.g. Cream; Kit; Solution or Kit; Oil; Solution/drops) highlighted in the table below.

I unfortunately lost a lot of hearing in my left ear after using this patch. It's permanent damage, so be wary before using it. If you start to experience ringing in your ears, take it off immediately.
