Treatment Summary
Carvedilol is a drug used to treat heart failure, left ventricular dysfunction, and high blood pressure. It is a combination of two different drugs, one that blocks beta adrenaline receptors and one that blocks both beta and alpha-1 adrenaline receptors. Carvedilol is often prescribed in combination with other drugs to treat moderate hypertension because lower doses of two drugs have fewer side effects than higher doses of one drug. The FDA approved Carvedilol in 1995.

Effectiveness
How Coreg Cr Affects Patients
Carvedilol works by blocking two different hormones that regulate heart rate and blood pressure. It is usually taken once daily, and the recommended dose is 10-80mg. It is important to not suddenly stop taking this medication, as it could make coronary artery disease worse.
How Coreg Cr works in the body
Carvedilol reduces heart rate in response to exercise by blocking the action of beta adrenoceptors. It also relaxes blood vessels and lowers blood pressure. At higher doses, it can block calcium channels and act like an antioxidant, preventing the oxidation of low-density lipoprotein and its buildup in the coronary circulation.
When to interrupt dosage
The recommended measure of Coreg Cr is contingent upon the determined affliction, including Chronic Stable Angina Pectoris, Ventricular Dysfunction, Left and Hypesthesia. The amount of dosage is dependent on the mode of administration featured in the table below.
