The Generic name of this drug
Treatment Summary
Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to reduce pain and inflammation from various causes. It works by blocking enzymes in the body that produce substances that contribute to pain and inflammation. It was developed based on the structures of other anti-inflammatory drugs and approved by the FDA in 1988. It is often combined with misoprostol to prevent gastric ulcers caused by NSAIDs. It is sold under the brand name Voltaren.

Effectiveness
How Cambia Affects Patients
Diclofenac is a drug that reduces inflammation and associated pain, as well as fever. However, it can also increase the risk of developing an ulcer in the stomach, due to its effects on the production of protective mucus.
How Cambia works in the body
Diclofenac works by blocking the production of molecules called prostaglandins. These molecules are involved in pain and inflammation. They activate pathways in the body that increase nerve sensitivity and make blood vessels wider, which can lead to inflammation. Diclofenac prevents the production of these molecules, reducing the effects of inflammation and pain. It also stops white blood cells from flowing to sites of inflammation. In addition, diclofenac can reduce fever by blocking the production of prostaglandins in the brain.
When to interrupt dosage
The measure of Cambia is contingent upon the diagnosed malady, including Joint Pain, Postoperative Inflammatory Response and Osteoarthritis (OA). The magnitude of dosage is dependent on the manner of application (e.g. Cream; Kit; Solution or Kit; Oil; Solution / drops) enumerated in the following table.
