How Bonjesta works in the bodyVitamin B6 is a group of three compounds: pyridoxine (PN), pyridoxal (PL) and pyridoxamine (PM) and their phosphorylated forms. It is commonly referred to as pyridoxine. Vitamin B6 helps the body in many ways. It helps the body break down proteins and sugars, create important molecules like neurotransmitters, and form red blood cells. I was struggling with debilitating nausea and vomiting. I'm pregnant with twins, so there's twice the hormones coursing through my body. Bonjesta was the only thing that helped me! It also allowed me to get a good night's sleep, which was wonderful.

Emergency Department Physical Therapy for Dizziness

This is a multi-site feasibility trial of an embedded emergency department (ED) physical therapy care model for dizziness at two EDs in the Northwestern Medicine and University of Utah Health systems. The study intervention (embedded ED physical therapy) is a reconceptualization of the traditional outpatient physical therapy care model in which we place a physical therapist directly in the ED to initiate timely care for patients with dizziness; we previously evaluated this intervention in a single center randomized trial for low back pain. This multi-site feasibility trial will be comprised of 9 months of active intervention and 12 months of longitudinal data collection. The two sites will be parallel randomized 1:1 to receive either the embedded ED physical therapy condition (intervention, n=1) or usual care (control, n=1) via simple randomization. This trial focuses on feasibility outcomes - such as our ability to enroll participants, deliver the intervention with fidelity, and collect longitudinal patient-reported outcome data and electronic health record data.

Embolization for Migraine

This study is to test the safety and feasibility of a procedure called embolization of the middle meningeal arteries (MMA), using a product called Onyx. Embolization creates a plug in the arteries. MMA embolization with Onyx is not approved for use in patients with migraines, but is currently used in patients with subdural hematomas. The FDA is allowing the use of Onyx in this study. It is thought that by using Onyx to block the middle meningeal arteries, the amount of migraine-causing substances which are released into the brain's bloodstream will be reduced. The company that manufactures Onyx, Medtronic, is providing the supplies for this study. Participants will be in the study for about 8 months after enrolling, including 6 months of follow up after the procedure. The participants will be asked to complete a daily headache diary and continue the participant's regular migraine medications. Participants will also have several clinic visits and be asked to provide blood samples for research.

The goal of this study is to determine whether a mobile application that combines real-time sensor data and patient-reported symptoms to trigger care-team contact recommendations is feasible and beneficial for patients receiving chemotherapy. The main questions it aims to answer are: * Is the mobile application feasible and acceptable to patients? * Do the alerts and guidance improve symptom management, quality of life, and engagement with the care team during treatment? Participants will: * Complete a demographic questionnaire at the beginning of the study and quality-of-life and health questionnaires at the beginning, midpoint, and end of study. * Complete daily symptom ratings via study application. * Wear a Fitbit activity tracker for 90 days. * At the end of the study, complete a semi-structured interview to provide feedback on the study. * Optional: At the beginning and end of the study, complete an in-person physical function assessment measuring balance (Short Physical Performance Battery).

Vitamin D3 + K2 for Vitamin Deficiency

The main purpose of this research study is to learn about the effects of supplemental vitamin D3 and vitamin K2 on blood levels and the gut microbial community, called the gut microbiome. There are many influences on blood levels of vitamin D and K to include your dietary intake, lifestyle behaviors (physical activity, sleep), genetic alterations in metabolism of these vitamins, and the gut microbial abundance and diversity. You will be asked to take one capsule containing vitamin D3 (125 mcg), vitamin K2 (180 mcg), a combination of vitamins D3 and K2 (same doses as previous), or a placebo powder for 90 days. You will also be asked to complete questionnaires, undergo body composition and blood pressure measurements, provide blood samples and a stool swab, all on 2 occasions about 3 - 4 months apart. By conducting this study, we aim to identify the frequency of common genetic alterations in vitamins D and K metabolism and establish the impact on the gut microbiome for the first time. Your participation in this study will last about 4 - 6 months and include up to 3 visits.

Mind-Body App + Movement Program for Chronic Pain

The investigators are evaluating the effects of a mind-body mobile application, in combination with a guided movement program, on the experience of chronic pain. Participants meeting the criteria for chronic/persistent pain (confirmed via self-report) will complete an online baseline questionnaire. Eligible participants will take part in an intervention that involves use of a 6-week free trial of a mind-body focused mobile application in combination with virtual asynchronous audio-guided somatic education sessions (gentle movement). External data from a usual care control arm and a mobile-app-only arm from a previous study by the same research team, National Clinical Trials (NCT) registry number NCT05090683, will be used for comparison with the current combined intervention. All participants will complete online surveys at the start of the study and after 6 weeks to measure pain intensity and interference (primary outcomes), mental health outcomes (depression, anxiety, stress), pain-related thoughts (pain catastrophizing), quality of life, and fear of movement (secondary outcomes). From weeks 2 to 6, participants will fill out weekly surveys to track how often they engage with each: the somatic education (gentle movement) program and the mobile app. Participants will also complete a follow-up survey at 12 weeks (6 weeks post-intervention conclusion).

Intranasal Nerve Block for Headache

In patients with bleeding from a brain aneurysm, severe headache is the most common complaint. However, the pain is difficult to treat. The use of standard pain medications is common, but pain control remains poor. Additionally, pain medicines have multiple side effects including sedation, interference with breathing, intestinal cramping, low blood pressure, and the risk of addiction. In the present study, the investigators will examine the use of a medication to block the sphenopalatine ganglion which is a bundle of nerves that includes nerves that cause head pain. This block is performed by spraying numbing medication into the back of the nasal cavity on both sides. This particular pain medication does not have the side effects discussed above. The purpose of the study is to see if this treatment will decrease pain without causing unwanted side effects. All patients in the study will receive standard pain medicine as needed for headache. Information will be collected from the patient's medical chart on the amount of pain medication used and the amount of pain the patient describes having. The average pain will be calculated for the first 24 hours the patient is in the hospital. At that point, the patient will receive pain medication sprayed into the back of the nasal cavity on both sides. Patients will also receive this treatment 3 days later. Following these treatments, information will be obtained on the average amount of pain, and how much other pain medication is used. The investigators will look at the amount of pain and the amount of other pain medicine used over the first 24 hours before the nasal pain medicine treatment and compare it to the time after the treatments to see if the amount of pain decreases and if the amount of other pain medicine needed decreases as well. Six months after discharge, the patient will be contacted by phone to find out more information about how much head pain they had after discharge from the hospital.

Dexmedetomidine + Dexamethasone for Postoperative Pain

The goal of this clinical study is to improve upon the standard practice of utilizing nerve blocks to enhance the satisfaction of patients undergoing shoulder, or foot and ankle surgery regarding their quality of pain control, the duration of their nerve blocks, as well as the avoidance of opioid medications and subsequently their undesirable side effects. The researchers hypothesize that dexmedetomidine and dexamethasone (Dex-Dex) will work synergistically as adjuncts in a low, non-weight based formula. This would allow the investigators to improve patient satisfaction by providing them with a superior means of pain control that is longer in duration with a decreased probability of unwanted side effects. The proposed clinical study will be a prospective, randomized control trial.

Temporo-masseteric Nerve Block for Postoperative Pain

The proposed design is a triple-blind, placebo-controlled randomized prospective phase II trial to assess the feasibility of employing the Temporo-masseteric Nerve Block (TMNB) injection to decrease jaw muscle pain, overall pain, improve mouth opening and minimize pain medication consumption. 80 participants undergoing lower third molar removal under sedation will be enrolled. Those who develop significant jaw muscle pain on the following day will be randomized to receive either the TMNB injection or a placebo. Daily ecological momentary assessments (EMAs) will be collected reflecting elements of patient experience for all participants. On Day 8, participants return for an end-of-study evaluation and return their unused pain medications. Up to 40 participants who are randomized to receive TMNB/placebo will be recruited to participate in a qualitative interview regarding their experience.

Endoscopic Evaluation for Iron-Deficiency Anemia

This is a single-center, randomized pilot study evaluating the feasibility and safety of two management strategies for patients on antithrombotic therapy who present with obscure gastrointestinal bleeding (OGIB). Participants will be randomized to either repeated endoscopic evaluations or a conservative medical approach with limited testing. The study aims to assess whether conservative management yields similar clinical outcomes and quality of life compared to standard repeated endoscopic procedures. Results will inform the design of a larger trial and address the current lack of guidelines for managing recurrent iron-deficiency anemia in this patient population.
