How Jublia works in the body

Efinaconazole is an antifungal medication that works by blocking a molecule called lanosterol from being made. Lanosterol is necessary for the fungus to make a type of fat that makes up its cell membrane. By blocking this molecule, the fungus is unable to make enough of the fat, so it can’t survive.

Jublia is great! You just have to make sure you screw the lid on tight so it doesn't dry out, and then apply it to your nails. For best results, put on two coats for large toenails and one coat for smaller nails. Do this every day, and one bottle should last you about a month.

I found that it worked best to apply the medication at night and let my toes air dry, or I used a hair dryer on low heat to dry them before applying the meds. Also, don't wear socks or shoes after you've applied it - go for waterproof sandals instead since the medication can run down the sides of your toes. It takes a few months for the infected nails to grow out completely, but you should see improvement from month to month.
