How Jublia Affects Patients
On Day 28 of treatment, the average amount of drug in the blood was 0.67 ng/mL, with a range of 0.37 ng/mL. The total amount of drug in the body over time (AUC) was 12.15 ng*h/mL, with a range of 6.91 ng*h/mL.
How Jublia works in the body
Efinaconazole is an antifungal medication that works by blocking a molecule called lanosterol from being made. Lanosterol is necessary for the fungus to make a type of fat that makes up its cell membrane. By blocking this molecule, the fungus is unable to make enough of the fat, so it can’t survive.
