Flovent Hfa Toxicity & Overdose RiskNot enough research has been done to determine the safety of fluticasone propionate in certain populations. Animal studies have shown that subcutaneous fluticasone propionate may cause birth defects, but there are no reports of adverse effects with oral administration during pregnancy. Breastfeeding mothers may experience growth suppression, changes in natural cortisol levels, or other side effects. Children who use fluticasone ointment may have suppressed adrenal glands. 7/26/2017 My grandson started using Flovent 44mcg in August without much success. Doctor upped the doseage to 110mcg at the end of Oct. Now, a month later, my grandson is a different child. His asthma is under control, but his behavior is terrible. He is super hyper, has trouble sleeping, screams, cries, talks back, in addition to throwing & hitting. I've reduced him to 1 puff a day until I can get in touch with his doctor.
