Corticosteroids act on the body's glucocorticoid receptor to reduce inflammation signals, while boosting anti-inflammatory signals. How Diprolene Af works in the body

Glucocorticoids, like betamethasone, work to prevent inflammation by blocking inflammation-causing molecules from forming. They also activate anti-inflammatory genes, like interleukin-10. Betamethasone can work through two pathways. The slower, genomic pathway turns on genes to create molecules that help reduce inflammation, while the faster, nongenomic pathway directly alters cells to reduce inflammation.

Taking too much glucocorticoids can cause a range of problems, such as cataracts, glaucoma, high blood pressure, bloating, high cholesterol, stomach ulcers, pancreatitis, muscle weakness, changes in mood, mental health issues, skin thinning and hair growth, increased risk of allergies and infection, round face, high blood sugar, low calcium and phosphate levels, acid buildup in the body, stunted growth, and a decrease in the body's own steroid production. To treat an overdose, the dose may need to be adjusted or stopped, and other supportive treatments may be needed.

I've had psoriasis for a while now and this is one of the most effective treatments I've found. A few applications usually does the trick, though it sometimes comes back after a few months. The gel form works best for me.
