It needs to be taken twice a day, and the recommended dosage is between 0.1mg and 2.4mg daily.
How Clonidine Hydrochloride works in the bodyClonidine is an alpha-2 adrenoceptor agonist, meaning it works by activating the alpha-2 adrenoceptor. This causes a number of physiological effects, such as decreasing blood pressure and heart rate, dampening pain signals at the spine, and promoting sleep. It works by activating G-proteins which, in turn, cause the alpha-2 adrenoceptor to bind to an effector and inhibit adenylyl cyclase, open potassium channels, and replace GDP with GTP. All these actions work together to produce the desired effects.

This blood pressure medication is by far the best I've tried. Not only does it help keep my levels in check, but it also doesn't make me feel exhausted or groggy.

Clonidine Hydrochloride for High Blood Pressure
I was taking this medication for my spiking blood pressure. I have also been taking Irbesartan (Avapro generic) 150 2 x daily. I have dropped the Amalodopine and started taking .1 clonidine in the evening every day. I feel better now and it also helps me sleep. My cardiologist said it was okay to take .2 if I needed to lower my extremely high spikes (which no doctirs can figure out).

Clonidine Hydrochloride for High Blood Pressure
This is the best blood pressure medication I've ever taken. It's very effective in keeping my blood pressure levels under control, which is really important for me since I only have one kidney. I think it might cause a little bit of fatigue, but I take it early in the morning and then 12 hours later in the evening so it's not a big deal.
