Common side effects of suvorexant include feeling drowsy and having a decreased level of alertness. It is not recommended to use suvorexant if you need to drive, as it can impair your driving skills. Taking a higher dose or using it with less than a full night of sleep remaining can increase the chance of feeling drowsy the next day. Suvorexant has been linked to sleepwalking, sleep driving, and other complex behaviours, as well as suicidal ideation, sleep paralysis, vivid dreaming, and mild cataplexy.
