How Tindamax Affects Patients
Tinidazole is a drug used to treat infections caused by protozoa, which are small, single-celled organisms. Tinidazole has been proven to be effective against the protozoa Trichomonas vaginalis, Giardia duodenalis, and Entamoeba histolytica. It does not appear to work against the bacteria that usually live in the vagina.
How Tindamax works in the body
Tinidazole is a medicine that helps to kill protozoa. When taken, it's converted into a toxic free radical within the protozoa. This free radical binds to the protozoa's DNA, causing damage and cell death. It's not known exactly how tinidazole works against Giardia and Entamoeba species, but it is thought to work in a similar way.
When to interrupt dosage

Tindamax Toxicity & Overdose Risk
There have been no reported overdoses of tinidazole in humans. However, testing on mice and rats has found that the toxic amount is greater than 3,600 mg/kg when taken orally, and greater than 2,300 mg/kg when taken through the abdomen in mice. In rats, the toxic amount is greater than 2,000mg/kg for both oral and intraperitoneal administration.

Patient Q&A Section about tindamax
These questions and answers are submitted by anonymous patients, and have not been verified by our internal team.
How long does it take Tindamax to cure BV?
"Tinidazole is an effective treatment for trichomoniasis, with cure rates ranging from 46% to 91%."
Answered by AI
What is Tindamax used for?
"Tinidazole is used to treat infections caused by single-celled organisms (such as trichomoniasis, giardiasis, and amebiasis). It is also used to treat adult women with vaginal infections (bacterial vaginosis). Tinidazole belongs to the group of medicines called antiprotozoals."
Answered by AI
Is Tindamax stronger than Flagyl?
"The data suggests that tinidazole is more successful and can be tolerated better than metronidazole when given as a shorter course with only one daily dose for those with intestinal amoebiasis and amoebic liver abscess. Tinidazole is also successful in treating symptomatic giardiasis with only one dose."
Answered by AI
Is Tindamax the same as Flagyl?
"Tinidazole is a second-generation nitroimidazole, similar to metronidazole. It has a longer half-life than metronidazole, allowing for a shorter course of therapy."
