Terconazole is a type of antifungal medicine meant to be used inside the vagina. It works by blocking the 14-alpha-demethylase enzyme which prevents the production of ergosterol, an important component of fungal membranes. When this component is depleted, it weakens the structure and functioning of the fungal membrane and stops its growth.

How Terazol 3 works in the body

Terconazole works against fungi by disrupting the permeability of their cell membranes. It stops an enzyme called cytochrome P450 14-alpha-demethylase in susceptible fungi, which leads to a decrease in an important type of cholesterol called ergosterol. When this cholesterol is depleted, the structure and function of the fungal cell become weakened, preventing it from growing.

Terazol 3 is the only yeast infection treatment that has ever worked for me. Almost immediately after using it, my symptoms were gone. I didn't experience any of the leakage that is common with other creams, which was great.

I've used this medication twice, and both times I've had awful side effects. The first time I thought it was just a bad virus, but after the second round of symptoms last night I realized it was the medicine. Both times I experienced a fever over 102 degrees, chills, severe vomiting, headache, dizziness and difficulty breathing. Do not recommend.

I was misdiagnosed yet again. I don't know what it takes for a woman to get the right medication, but this wasn't it. usually if you clear up yeast, a bacterial infection follows. Both should be treated simultaneously. This medication is absolute garbage and I would never recommend it to anyone.

I can only assume that this medication kept my condition from getting worse. However, I was still incredibly itchy and uncomfortable throughout the duration of the treatment. Additionally, the itching spread to other areas outside of my vagina- which has never happened before. Overall, not a great experience.

The burning and itching was worse than the infection itself. It's also messy, difficult to use, and just generally unpleasant. I wouldn't recommend this treatment to anyone.
