Effectiveness

How Relpax Affects Patients

Eletriptan triggers certain receptors in the body and has been shown to reduce the flow of blood through the carotid artery. This has a small effect on the blood pressure in high doses. Other arteries, such as the coronary artery, also become narrower. In rats, it has been observed to reduce activity of the trigeminal nerve.

How Relpax works in the body

Eletriptan binds to certain serotonin receptors in the brain to help relieve migraines. The exact way this works is unclear, but it is thought that by binding to these receptors, it causes blood vessels in the brain to constrict, which leads to a reduction in migraine symptoms. It is also believed to block the release of certain chemicals that cause inflammation and pain.

When to interrupt dosage

The measure of Relpax is contingent upon the diagnosed state. The magnitude of the dosage is contingent upon the approach of conveyance (e.g. Tablet, film coated - Oral or Tablet, film coated) detailed in the table hereunder.

Relpax for Migraine Headache

Despite my insurance only giving me a measly six Relpax per month (I need at least 20), this drug has always been effective for me in the past. It works within an hour to several, which is really incredible. Sadly, my doctor doesn't like fighting with my insurance company, so I have to make due with what little I'm given.

Relpax for Migraine Headache

I've been dealing with migraines since I was a teenager, but Relpax has always been effective for me. It does cause some temporary weakness, but that's a small price to pay for getting rid of the migraine.

Relpax for Migraine Headache

These pills are incredible for migraines. Within 45 minutes of taking them, I can go about my day as normal. So glad that insurance covers most of the cost because they're not cheap.

Relpax for Migraine Headache

I've been taking 40 mg of Relpax for quite a few years with no side effects. I strongly suggest this drug to anyone I know that has chronic migraines.

Relpax for Migraine Headache

I've tried all the other triptans, and they all help to some extent. However, Relpax is the only one that works for me every single time--though sometimes I have to take two pills. One commenter here said that the FDA only allows two pills per week, but that's not true. The limit is two per 24 hours.

Relpax for Migraine Headache

This is the only medication that has been able to entirely relieve my migraines. Sometimes I have to take two pills, but it's worth it when the pain goes away. The price can be prohibitive, though I've had to pay as much as $50 per pill at times.

Relpax for Migraine Headache

This medication is great for migraines. It usually takes the pain down from a 10+ to a 4 or 5, which is much more manageable. However, it is dangerous to take more than two doses per week, so I often have to supplement with narcotics.

Relpax for Migraine Headache

Relpax has been a game-changer for me when it comes to managing my migraines. I've tried other medications in the past, but their side effects were almost as bad as the migraine itself. If you're debating whether or not to take this medication, just do it! The sooner you take it, the better chance you have of preventing the headache from getting worse.

Relpax for Migraine Headache

I've been on this prescription for a couple years now and, to be frank, I haven't found it helpful at all. The two hour wait between pills is torture, and my insurance only covers so many per month. Time to try something else.

Relpax for Migraine Headache

The first time I took Relpax, it made me so nauseous that I had to lay down and not move. I also felt very hazy and ended up passing out for four hours. Not only did it not help with my migraine, but it actually made the pain worse. I usually have migraines that last one day, but after taking this medication, my migraine lasted for three days. It was the worst experience of my life and I will never take this drug again.

Migraine Medications for Tinnitus

25 - 85
All Sexes
Orange, CA

Tinnitus represents one of the most common and distressing otologic problems, and it causes various somatic and psychological disorders that interfere with the quality of life. Despite too many research projects on finding the mechanism of tinnitus, its pathophysiology remains poorly understood. It is well understood that many factors, such as poor education, lower income, or occupational, and recreational activity associated with high noise exposure, influence the prevalence and risk of tinnitus. Although the economic and emotional impact of tinnitus is large, there is currently no FDA-approved medication to treat this condition. However, there are pharmacological options to address the stress, anxiety, and depression that are caused by tinnitus. In this project, the investigators intend to use medications for patients with acute tinnitus to decrease the impact of tinnitus in their daily lives and activities. There are some studies on medications treating tinnitus; however, there are few randomized clinical trials to prove the efficacy of the treatment. The frequency and loudness of tinnitus will be measured before and after the course. Functional MRI of the brain will be obtained to view any changes that may occur before and after the treatment.
