What is Syeda

Drospirenone

The Generic name of this drug

Treatment Summary

Drospirenone is a synthetic progestin found in the birth control pill Yaz. It is also used with estrogens to treat acne and premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD). There has been some concern that this drug may increase the risk of developing blood clots, but the FDA states that this risk remains unclear and is lower than the risk during pregnancy.

Effectiveness

How Syeda Affects Patients

Taking drospirenone can prevent pregnancy by stopping the maturation of follicles in the ovaries and preventing ovulation. It can also help improve acne and excessive hair growth. When combined with ethinyl estradiol, it may help improve cholesterol levels. It is similar to natural progesterone and is thought to have fewer side effects than other progesterone contraceptives, such as breast tenderness and mood swings. However, it can increase the risk of blood clots, especially in smokers and women over 35. It may also increase the risk of high potassium levels, so those at risk should not take it.

How Syeda works in the body

Drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol work together to prevent pregnancy by blocking hormones that cause ovulation and making it harder for sperm to reach the egg. Drospirenone also helps to treat acne and hirsutism by blocking the effects of androgens, which can cause these conditions. It also reduces edema in the sebaceous follicle during the second half of the menstrual cycle, helping to prevent acne from appearing.

When to interrupt dosage

The measure of Syeda relies upon the diagnosed affliction, including moderate to severe symptoms, Menopause and Post-Menarche. The quantity likewise differs as indicated by the technique of delivery (e.g. Tablet, film coated - Oral or Oral) featured in the table beneath.

Syeda for Disease of Ovaries with Cysts

Syeda is extremely effective, even if you miss a couple days or have unprotected sex. I've struggled with PCOS and other brands have made me gain weight, but not Syeda.

Syeda for Acne

I've been on Syeda for a few years now and it's done wonders for my acne. However, I have noticed that I gain about 10 pounds each year while on the medication, which is something to consider if you're thinking of starting this treatment. Additionally, it hasn't had much impact on my periods.

Syeda for Birth Control

I started this treatment six weeks ago, and I have noticed a significant change in my mood. I am now grumpy and feeling tense all the time. I have also gained 10 pounds, which is very unusual for me. The side effects are just not worth it.

Syeda for Birth Control

I've now been using this treatment for two months as a form of birth control. The first few weeks, I was nauseous almost every day to the point where I considered stopping; however, I powered through it. Last month, my period was surprisingly light with hardly any cramps! This is usually not the case for me, so hopefully this trend will continue.

Syeda for Birth Control

I experienced some serious stomach pains early on, but they eventually subsided. I also found that my periods were less heavy and didn't last as long. My skin was always nice and smooth while using this medication. I feel myself hungrier than usual though not sure if it’s because of the pills or just me

Syeda for Acne

While this birth control did help with my acne and functioned as intended, the side effects were really tough to deal with. My anxiety was through the roof and I became very depressed. Once I stopped taking it, naturally I started to feel better.

Syeda for Birth Control

I switched birth controls back in January and started taking Syeda then. My weight has gone up noticeably, as well as my breast size (two cup sizes). I'm constantly moody and bloated, no matter what. I'll be switching birth controls very soon; Syeda just doesn't work for me.

Syeda for Disease of Ovaries with Cysts

Bloating and general discomfort were my experience with this product. It took a little while to figure out that it was the birth control, but once I stopped taking it those symptoms went away.

Sculptra + Restylane for Post-Menopausal Skin Concerns

40 - 65
Female
Montreal, Canada

The post-menopausal state is marked by a sharp decline in estrogen, leading to significant structural and functional changes in the skin, including collagen loss, dryness, thinning, and reduced elasticity. To address these concerns, aesthetic injectables products such as Sculptra® Aesthetic (poly-L-lactic-acid \[PLLA- SCA\]) and Restylane Skinboosters®\[HASBV\] (small-particle hyaluronic acid - SP-HA) can be used. PLLA-SCA stimulates collagen production via cellular activation (biostimulator), gradually improving dermal structure. HASBV enhances hydration, elasticity, and skin texture when injected under the skin. Considering that hydration and laxity represent the primary aesthetic concerns in this patient population. Targeted treatment with SP-HA (HASBV) to improve hydration and PLLA-SCA to address laxity have been shown to produce significant clinical outcomes by directly addressing these key dermal deficiencies. This approach forms the basis of the current study.

Lidocaine for Pain Control in Birth Control

18 - 50
Female
La Jolla, CA

The goal of this research study is to learn more about how different uses of a numbing medication might affect pain levels while getting an IUD placed. The investigators are also studying participants opinions of their clinicians' empathy. The investigators are inviting patients who arrive at their clinic visit seeking an IUD. Usually, at University of California, San Diego (UCSD), for patients who have never delivered a baby, clinicians use a buffered paracervical block for before IUD placement. The purpose of this research study is to investigate whether a "buffered" (2 cc of sodium bicarbonate, 18 cc of 1% lidocaine) paracervical block (numbing medication given on both sides of the cervix) is effective in reducing pain during IUD placement in individuals with prior C-sections, the difference between buffered and unbuffered for nulliparous patients, and whether a medicated gel reduces pain with the paracervical block.

HAPPI Software for Birth Control Access

18+
All Sexes
Del Mar, CA

The goal of this clinical trial is to learn if use of the HAPPI software can improve pharmacist-provided birth control services. The main questions it aims to answer are: 1. Does the HAPPI software make it easier for pharmacists to provide birth control services in their pharmacy? 2. Does the HAPPI software make it easier for patients to access birth control? Researchers will compare pharmacists' implementation and patients' access when using the HAPPI software and when not using the HAPPI software to see if the software improves implementation and access. Participants will include pharmacists and patients. Pharmacists will be asked to provide birth control services as normal while using the HAPPI software. Patients will be asked to receive birth control services from a pharmacist as normal, while using the HAPPI software.

Estradiol and Elagolix for Menopause

42 - 64
Female
University Park, PA

The frequency and severity of heat waves has increased in the last decades. Older adults (over 65 years) have impaired responses to heat stress making them at increased risk for adverse events. Previous heat waves report that women over 65 experience worse health outcomes than any other age group and age matched men. Aging and reproductive hormones, specifically estrogen, independently alter responses to heat stress. However, the combined effects of low estrogen following menopause and aging on the response to heat stress are unknown. In this study, the investigators will identify the role of estrogen in pre and post menopausal women on thermoregulatory responses to heat stress.
