The Generic name of this drug

Treatment Summary

Caffeine is a drug used to treat breathing problems in premature babies, reduce pain, and combat drowsiness. It has a similar chemical structure to the drugs Theophylline and Theobromine and is found in coffee beans, teas, and cacao beans. It is also used in cosmetics and can be taken orally, injected, applied topically, or inhaled. Effectiveness

How Migergot Affects Patients

Caffeine increases alertness and energy, and can also make people feel restless or anxious. It also relaxes the muscles in the body, increases the strength of cardiac muscle, and helps with physical performance. Caffeine can cause the stomach to produce more acid, which can help with treating headaches. Lastly, caffeine acts as a diuretic and can increase urination.

How Migergot works in the body

Caffeine affects many different parts of the body. It blocks an enzyme called nucleotide phosphodiesterase, which helps regulate cell function. Caffeine also blocks adenosine receptors, which can stimulate the respiratory system and increase alertness. It can also increase renal blood flow and sodium excretion, leading to a diuretic effect. In the heart, caffeine blocks adenosine receptors, leading to increased blood flow and increased release of catecholamines. This can raise blood pressure, which is helpful in some headaches caused by vasodilation in the brain.

When to interrupt dosage

The proposed dose of Migergot hinges upon the specified affliction, such as Overdose, Drug, Catarrh and Athletic Performance. The amount of dosage alters, according to the approach of delivery (e.g. Tablet or Tablet - Oral) detailed in the subsequent table.

Migergot for Migraine Headache

This is the best medicine I've ever used for migraines. It works within 20 minutes, and I only need half a suppository. Predisone is the only other thing that works for me.

Migergot for Migraine Headache

I have been using this drug for migraines for over 20 years, and it has always worked within 1-2 hours for me. Even if I wake up with a headache, this is still my go-to. I'm hearing that they might stop making this particular type of drug soon, and I'm honestly not sure how I'll cope.

Migergot for Migraine Headache

I've tried a lot of different medications and delivery methods, but Migergot is the only one that's really worked for me. It usually starts relieving my migraines within 40 minutes, which is amazing considering how long I've suffered. The downside is that it's becoming harder to find and very pricey if you don't have insurance.

Migergot for Migraine Headache

I took my first migraine medication suppository today. I experienced vomiting and nausea for about 1-2 hours afterwards...it was dreadful! I also took zofran and seroquel, which did help relieve the pain after a couple of hours. The medication burned when inserted, but it was worth it to get rid of the pain.

Is Cafergot still available?

"The medicine Cafergot, which contains ergotamine as its active ingredient mixed with caffeine, is no longer considered a viable option because better treatments are now available."

Answered by AI

How much caffeine is in Cafergot?

"Ergotamine tartrate and caffeine are found in Cafergot tablets. There is 1 mg of ergotamine tartrate and 100 mg of caffeine in each tablet."

Answered by AI

What is ergotamine used for?

"The combination of ergotamine and caffeine is used to prevent and treat migraines. Ergotamine is part of a group of drugs known as ergot alkaloids which work together with caffeine to constrict blood vessels in the head and as a result, prevent migraines."

Answered by AI

What is Cafergot used to treat?

"Ergotamine works by narrowing these blood vessels.

This medication is a combination of two drugs, ergotamine and caffeine. It is used to treat or prevent certain types of headaches, including migraines and cluster headaches. Headache pain can sometimes be caused by widened blood vessels in the head. Ergotamine works by narrowing these blood vessels."

Cypress, CA

This study is part of the HEAL Initiative supported by the NIH. The purpose of this study is to learn how safe the study drug, SBS-147, is and how people's bodies respond to and process it. Researchers will also look for any side effects that may occur when taking SBS-147. Some participants will receive SBS-147, and others will receive a placebo, which looks the same but does not contain any medicine. This helps researchers fairly compare results. The study includes two parts: Single-Dose Group, where Participants receive SBS-147 or placebo one time. App-based Breathing Program for Migraine

18+
All Sexes
Phoenix, AZ

Migraine is one of the most common neurological disorders, characterized by recurrent headaches, sensitivity to light and movement, nausea, and autonomic dysregulation. Although mind-body interventions like biofeedback have shown their efficacy, they remain underutilized due to barriers such as transportation, time constraints, lack of awareness, stigma, and cost. A targeted approach to enhancing HRV is HRV biofeedback (HRVB), a technique using visual or auditory feedback to help people regulate HRV through slow-paced breathing and positive emotional regulation to promote ANS balance and emotional resilience. Investigators will conduct a remotely delivered pilot RCT of an 8-week, 10 min/day, novel app-based HRVB intervention compared to a sham control intervention (matching intervention time and attention with no biofeedback component) in adult with chronic migraine. Investigators hypothesize data collected from the study will: a) support the feasibility and acceptability of the remotely delivered app-based HRVB intervention among adults with chronic migraine, and b) provide insights into refining the intervention by examining patterns of change in migraine and psychological outcomes from pre- to post-intervention.

Niagen®Plus for Fatigue

18+
All Sexes
Miami, FL

The goal of this study is to learn about the safety of Niagen®Plus, an injectable form of nicotinamide riboside (NR), and to see how it affects levels of NAD+ in the blood. Niagen®Plus will be given either by subcutaneous (under the skin) or intramuscular (into the muscle) injection at two dose levels (50 mg or 100 mg). The main questions this study aims to answer are: Is Niagen®Plus safe and well-tolerated when given by injection several times over 100 days? How do NAD+ levels in blood change after repeated doses of Niagen®Plus? What are participants' and clinicians' experiences with the injections? Researchers will also look at changes in fatigue, sleep, quality of life, inflammation markers, mitochondrial efficiency, and perceived skin appearance. Participants will: Receive three injections in clinic on Days 1-3, followed by a Day 10 follow-up visit Self-inject Niagen®Plus at home three times per week from Days 10-100 Return to the clinic on Days 40 and 100 for safety and laboratory testing Complete short surveys about fatigue, sleep, and overall well-being throughout the study The study will include 40 generally healthy adults and will last about 100 days per participant.
