How Halobetasol Propionate Affects Patients
Ulobetasol is a type of corticosteroid that helps to reduce inflammation. It is usually applied once or twice a day and has a wide therapeutic window, meaning that it is safe to take doses higher than what the body naturally produces. It is important to be aware that taking corticosteroids can suppress the body's natural hormone system and make it harder to fight infections.
How Halobetasol Propionate works in the body
Corticosteroids help reduce inflammation in the body. They work by preventing certain cells from migrating to the site of inflammation, and by blocking the production of certain molecules that cause inflammation. Low doses of corticosteroids reduce inflammation, while high doses suppress the immune system. High doses of corticosteroids can also lead to higher sodium levels and lower potassium levels.
When to interrupt dosage
The proposed dosage of Halobetasol Propionate is dependent upon the diagnosed situation, such as Pruritus, corticosteroid responsive, Inflammatory Dermatosis and Plaque Psoriasis. The quantity of dosage is contingent upon the delivery approach (e.g. Lotion - Topical or Cream) specified in the table below.
